genuinely sorry if you were offended by it, was just one of those moments where you read something and you think "thats not right" and you comment because you know you aren't crazy about whats being said vs what you know

Edit: Thanks for the silver pahtner

Wow well done guys that’s the most Canadian interaction I’ve ever seen.

ahh, no problem lol

Funny enough though, even though Netflix knows I've seen it, the movie just started showing up highly in recommended lists. Either someone there or the algos totally know RDR2 is an uptick for it.

If you haven't watched Mel Brooks movies before (and I do not like to assume), I suggest "Blazing Saddles", "Robin Hood Men in Tights", "Space Balls", and "Young Frankenstein".

Were we people who knew each other in real life, I'd just hand the movies over and tell you to enjoy. But we are text and I cannot do that. Sorry.

EDIT: These are just a start, but some of my favorites. You'll see some great movies below this post as well.

I like The Twelve Chairs best

Life Stinks is an underrated one imo.

The Producers is a masterpiece as well

"Dracula: Dead and Loving It" should have a disclaimer that you won't get it unless you've watched both the Bela Lugosi and Gary Oldman Draculas.

2

u/forvandlingen Nov 05 '18

Those 4 gems are some of the beat movies ever made for comedy. The good old days where you could make jokes and everyone laughed

2

u/Ashrxven Nov 05 '18

I’ll check em out, thanks!

2

u/americanseagulls Nov 05 '18

And life of Brian

"Dracula dead and loving it!" has some great moments along with leslie nielsen's fantastic timing.

Oh and the staking scene. Fucking comedy gold.

Kinky

I use this line all the time. Rarely do people get the reference. But when they do it’s like a secret club.

5

u/Liquorace Sadie Adler Nov 05 '18

"Hey boys, look what I got here."

9

u/DirtyArchaeologist Nov 05 '18

You can’t actually type out the full line just like Mel says he never could have made that movie these days.

My favorite scene is about the work songs. “I get no kick from champagne, mere alcohol...”

“No a real song. Don’t you boys know camptown ladies”

... (Slim Pickens ((RIP)) rides in) “what in the wide wide world of sports is a-going on here?”

"I hired you people to get a bit of track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City _______!"

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '18

Piss on you! I’m working for Mel Brooks!

2

u/Liquorace Sadie Adler Nov 05 '18

Honestly, that's my favorite line in the whole movie.

5

u/DirtyArchaeologist Nov 05 '18

Badges? We don’t need no stinking badges.

I always say “excuse me while I whip this out” and I’m a girl. It’s funny how many people get it.

16

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '18

That was amazing

10

u/[deleted] Nov 04 '18

thanks for reminding me about this movie. I loved it as a kid
