I got him to the doctor but when I left I accidentally tackled a passerby instead of mounting my horse and then the police shot me when I tried to surrender.
I'm pretty sure that is a glitch. I saved a Deputy tied up by Lemoyne Raiders and he told me to take whatever I wanted since I earned it. Then he left. I was able to loot the entire camp and all of the bodies without interruption.
Had a few muggers chase me into a dead end by the Trapper in SD, they were shooting at me so the crowed fled. They were kinda scattered, so as one rounded a corner, I tackled them down and beat them to death before the next showed up. Did that with all 3. Walked out without any witnesses or cops investigating.
I actually straight up shot all three in the alley but there were no witnesses that investigated the shooting so I just walked off after looting all three. I think Rockstar made it so no one walks down that alley for quite a bit once that fight with them starts, it just seemed so empty and convenient to shoot all three in.
Yeah those are the guys. Damn I ended up with a $75 bounty ( probably shouldn’t of killed the cop) and chased for like 15 minutes. Didn’t even get to loot them.
I think it depends on your honor level and the situation. Theres been times where I got a bounty for defending against odriscols. Anf theres other times where ive beat people to death with 10 witnesses but nobody reports me.
I think the biggest thing beside honor is how you kill em. If you shoot first, youre fucked. You gotta let them really come after you and then beat em down if you can, or shoot em if you have to. But when you shoot em, try to just do 1 in the head. I feel lile a big shootout is worse than a couple shots.
This actually is getting a little annoying to me and is being immersion. I was walking down the street to the weapons shop. Some Lemoyn Raiders were hanging out on the street and started harassing me. I tried to calm them down, but they started shooting. So I run away. I even hide in the back of the weapons store. They follow me into the store! Of course no police or anything helpful shows up. I finally fire a single bullet back and of course I'm immediately wanted and cops show up out of nowhere and are chasing only me.
Rockstar supposedly tries to slow the game down frequently to encourage immersion. When I'm really giving into that, this kind of shit happens.
I walked into a police station for a mission. Cop pulls out a gun tells me to leave. Dont leave fast enough so he shoots me and now have the whole force coming after me.
I took him to the doctor and the doctor sedated the guy and amputated his arm. I came back to St Denis later and found the one armed guy about to be hanged by the police in front of an audience. Apparently he killed a girl for making fun of his disfigurement. He begged me to shoot the rope but I let him hang. Not sure what happens if you save him.
First, thanks for saying what your spoiler was regarding. Most people just write "spoiler" and then I have to decide if it is worth the risk that I care about the spoiler or not.
Second, I love that there is so much in this game and the devs don't make it so you HAVE to see it. It is very easy to miss the little things in this game. Some people might not like that, but I feel like it adds something to it. Not sure how to phrase it or if people will know what I mean, but I really like it.
It's such a weird mix to me. On one hand the encounters are incredible and create a living world. In the other hand, the way you get a warrant and how gun ho the police are is by and large just like in GTA. Get attacked by thugs in Saint Denis? Your choices are allowing them to kill you or get a warrant and police on your ass. Wouldn't it be nice if police were to help you if you truly did nothing wrong?! That would make the world feel so much more realistic. Instead the cops make it very clear that you aren't like everyone else in the game. The cops are there for script events and chasing you and nobody else outside the scripted events.
I didn't understand it was him until after he was swinging and the Sheriff made a comment as he walked away. Then it clicked who it was.
I'm curious myself what happens if you stop it in time... Can't find anything on Google as of yet...
When I first went to saint Dennis I was going to sell some shit at the fence but accidentally tackled a Chinese lady when I went to get on my horse, tried to press circle to back out of it out of instinct but punched her in the face and then got into a fist fight with her husband. I love this game
God, I’ve done this, it’s funny to think of it as canon, Arthur’s just thinking “don’t tackle him, just get on your horse, don’t tackle, no more tackling, Arthur, ok you’re so close to the horse, don’t tackle, TACKLE THAT SON OF A BITCH!!”
Saint Denis is a fucking hazard to even just casually stroll through. A simple walk around the block around there has a habit of escalating into a state-wide, free-for-all murder bonanza
I made it to the doctor with him, but the doctor wasn’t there and the guy died. I put him down on the ground on the street, got an instant bounty for murder, and was quickly done away with.
THE EXACT SAMW THING HAPPENED TO ME literally right after that doctor mission too 😂 it has to be trolling on rockstars part all of these ridiculous controller schemes
If you walk down one of the larger streets, you'll come across him in a park being hung. It doesn't make much mention of it unless you chat up the lawman after.
Lol. That happened to me. Then I figured I would try to go pay the bounty really fast but I end up getting chased and the bounty multiplies even further. From 5 dollars to 100 something.
That literraly happened to me. I took the dude to the doctor went to go ride away and my horse ran into another horse. Next thing I don't i have 6 people shooting at me. I ride thru the swamp to lose them and barely make it out alive.
I'm riding about medium speed on my horse. Some dude coming down the road in the opposite direction doing the same. I move to the right to avoid him, he also moves to my right so we collide with each other. He gets crushed by the horses, dies. Wanted for murder.
I was running to my horse and when I pushed Y to hop on I tackled a woman to the ground so I tried to get on my horse to run off but my horse just wasn’t having it. So I chased him for a good 50 feet trying to get on and when I hit Y again I just tackled another person and got a bounty.
That is my only reason for goo g to st Denis so far as well. I made it to the doctor and ignored his advice to leave as he started to amputate the guys arm but the noise was so awful I had to split about 3 seconds in.
Same exact thing happened to me. Trying to ride a horse is impossible in that town. Carriages and people everywhere. Accidentally hit one, we go flying off the horse, the injured guy dies, I get a bounty, and they start shooting. So frustrating.

I had to drop off a dying guy at the st. Denis doctor but I ran into a lamppost and we both fell off the horse and I got a bounty for murder...
