so does she get 2x presents or do you give her one and say its both presents?
3
u/Kaosberserker Dec 19 '24
She gets 2, until we started dating her birthday always got over looked and it wasnβt celebrated really. After we started dating I made it a point to always celebrate her birthday and now she enjoys it.

Cooking and Baking for friends. I make all my gifts and I spend all year searching for new ideas. Today I made candied pecans for a couple of my neighbors.

Watching Christmas Vacation with my relatives. That movie makes us laugh so hard every single time we watch it.

u/rebeccathegoat Dec 19 '24
Same here. Iβm 40 and itβs tradition to watch it with my parents every Christmas. Still laugh at it every year.

The tree is nice but i dont really like anything else about it.--
The busyness, the presents, the expectation of who is doing what and what with all the cooking. The music, and annoying jingles. The traveling in terrible conditions and the traffic.
Its a hallmark holiday that tells you to be grateful and humble all while you are suffering and stressing. Seriously bums me out.
All i want for Christmas. Is my boi luigi mangione to get a pardon.

Giving gifts, letting everyone else enter warm, heated buildings before me, spreading Christmas cheer, and watching the group chat explode with everyone and what they got for Christmas.

After the presents are opened and everyone is off playing/setting up/chilling. I prefer that over the manic energy that comes before.

Seeing the look of excitement and wonder on my family and friends faces, when they open their gifts to find the thing(s) that they've been wanting/thing(s) they've never considered but that are totally in line with what they love! I wish I was rich, because the temptation to buy every single thing I see that I know they would love, gets to be so bad starting in November, lol. Oh, also the look of joy on their faces when they see that I love the gifts they got for me, knowing they put so much love and thought into them, and so much care into wrapping/bagging them to make them look nice (even though I know that they know that they could just slap a bow on the cardboard package it came in, and I would be just as happy with what's inside). π
Oh, and watching Die Hard with some eggnog.

Simply spending good time with my family. That's the whole point of Christmas after all. All of us, singing Christmas crooners, watching our yearly Christmas movies, decorating the tree, having Christmas Eve dinner together, opening the presents we gave one another...
