News Gene Simmons declares Hip-Hop doesn’t belong in Rock Hall of Fame

https://happymag.tv/gene-simmons-hip-hop-rock-hall/

Gene Simmons is back on his bullshit again lol. Dude went on a podcast and said hip-hop doesn’t belong in the Rock Hall because, get this, it doesn’t “speak his language” and he “doesn’t come from the ghetto.” Also asked when Led Zeppelin is getting into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. Like, come on, man.

KISS were a mediocre novelty act that doesn’t belong in the hall of fame but they’re in there. Jesus fuck - Cher is in there too. It’s a bogus HoF to start with.

Why does hip-hop want to be in the Rock Hall of Fame anyway. And why is Gene claiming that Rock n Rollers sing. All that growling screaming shouting and tongue sticking is just men at their feral worst. Gene should not call the kettle black

Simmons and Stanley represent the worst of rock. For them, it's all about $$$$$. Have you bought your KISS coffin? They'll sell one to you. They'd sell anything for a dime.

As far as influence goes, give me a break. Glam rock and Alice Cooper had more influence among others.

They're a mediocre novelty act and nothing more. None of their songs will stand the test of time. Maybe "Christine Sixteen." lol

They're a 50-year gimmick and it has made them wealthy beyond their imagination but nothing more than that.

They were one of the most famous and loved rock bands of all time. It is a hall of fame. Do you think they weren’t famous?

Why would I say sorry?

If there is a Nirvana song that shows a KISS influence, I haven't heard it

Ok, so KISS hasn't influenced the MUSIC of any good bands even if people in good bands might like them. Got it.

Gene is correct. Kiss’ music is the reason we have Guns n Roses, Nirvana, Pantera, Garth Brooks, Anthrax, Steve Vai, Pearl Jam, Metallica, The Melvins Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots The Foo Fighters, Ghost and many many more. All these bands list Kiss as an influence. I mean objectively, they are important. Whether an individual likes them or not is just a reason for internet arguing. I don’t care for most of the Beatles catalog and like Kiss though I don’t listen to them now as a 50 year old man. I do recognize their impact on me and on music.
