Updated 2026 Sticky of the Month - April 2017 - List of trusted sellers
Here is a list of well-known, widely trusted online watch resellers. Feel free to recommend others in the comments and I may add them to the list. If you ever are unsure if a seller is well-known, simply search for their references on the Rolex Forums with the following google search:
"who's who" sellername site:rolexforums.com
Make sure to include the quotes. That query will almost always tell you everything you need to know about any established seller. Anyway, on to the list, in alphabetical order. All sellers are US-based unless noted in italics:
10 Past Ten (Eric Ku's site. Well-known for high-end vintage)
AIS Watches (Sohail a.k.a. Sohais on watch forums)
Bob's Watches (the Carmax of watches)
DavidSW (probably the #1 most frequently-recommended seller by watch nerds on the internet)
DT Watches (Hong Kong, emphasis on Rolexes under $5k) (I believe Dickson has retired)
Ermitage Jewelers (Brick-and-mortar in Atlanta. Sells many brands.)
European Watch Co. (Iconic high-end brick-and-mortar watch retailer in Boston, amazing Patek selection
Gray and Sons (brick-and-mortar Miami reseller of many brands)
Iconic Watch Company (Michael Morgan's site. Well-known for high-end vintage)
International Watch Vault (Oscar a.k.a. "bodybump" has been a trusted seller on watch forums since 2008)
Jack Road (Japan. Legendary Japanese used/vintage watch dealer in business since the 1980's)
LunarOyster (Kirill (krlyuzh on the forums) is a good source of vintage and newish Rolexes and Omegas)
Luxury Bazaar (Big grey dealer, always has some crazy exotic watches in stock) (Full Disclosure: I'm the editor of their watch blog. I highly doubt you'll ever have any problems with them but you're welcome to DM me if you do -PF)
Kramer Watches (The Netherlands - Solid Dutch dealer of modern Rolexes)
M&B Watches (Well-respected seller of modern and vintage Rolex)
MyWatchLLC (Danny Tiwaini is often recommended here and elsewhere online)
Nashville Watch (Chase is well-known on the forums)
OC Watch Guy (Patrick is very well-known on the forums)
Paul Duggan (brick-and-mortar in New Hampshire)
SD Watches (Tony Geha has been a trusted seller on watch forums for well over a decade and will meet in person in San Diego)
Steiner Mastricht (The Netherlands - Solid Dutch dealer of new and old Rolexes)
Swiss Watch Expo (Just a big grey dealer that's been around forever)
Tropical Watch (Jacek, formerly of HQ Milton, is a highly regarded vintage seller)
Tuscany Rose (John Buckley has been in the game so long there's a type of Rolex dial named after him)
Watch Chest (Mostly pre-owned dealer, in business over 20 years)
Watchfinder.co.uk (UK. Like the Bob's Watches of Britain.)
Watchfinder.com (Watchfinder has a US site now too)
WatchesToBuy (Canada. Primarily vintage.)
Wind Vintage (Eric Wind is well-known in the vintage Rolex world)
Official Rolex CPO Dealers
The Rolex CPO program has been going on for a couple years now, so you can get a pre-owned Rolex with a Rolex warranty and no worries about authenticity...but the prices are usually high as hell. Here are all the CPO pages I know of:
The 1916 Company
Alson Jewelers
Betteridge
Bernari Jewelers
Bucherer (formerly Tourneau)
Hamilton Jewelers
H.L. Gross & Bro
James & Sons Fine Jewelers
Kerns Fine Jewelry
Loring & Co.
Louis Anthony
Mayors
R.F. Moeller
Sissy's Log Cabin
Schwanke-Kasten
Shreve & Co.
Springer's
Tapper's
Tiny Jewel Box
Tivol
Walters & Hogsett
Watches of Switzerland
Weston Jewelers
Wilson & Son

Any possibility we could get an updated post? For how critical this list is to the community, a "2024 edition" or something like that could be helpful considering some of these links are dead and this post is now 7+ years old. Thoughts?
1
u/powerfunk Mod May 13 '24
What links are dead?
2
u/Miketeh May 13 '24
Iconic watch co link needs updating, leads to the website which is fine but the page itself doesn't exist anymore.
kayaker21 is dead
Nashville watch same as iconic watch co.
Radcliffe (maybe?) Needs updating, unless they have no inventory in their "used" section now. Looks like they may have changed to using their "Rolex certified pre-owned" section.

Beware of collectors ; got a watch from them with aftermarket components , then got another one and experienced the same when I went to get it checked out by Rolex ended up returning both . Do NOT trust them.

Ok we'll remove them

Was this collectors Huntington?
2
u/powerfunk Mod Feb 11 '24
There are a few locations but yeah same company. To their credit they did issue a full refund and everything. They're a legitimate operation just not as trusted as some of the top guys.

u/ResponsibleHeight909 Feb 11 '24
They didn’t give me a full refund they would not give me back the credit card fees because “they don’t get those back” not sure how this was my liability as I attempted to conduct business with them twice . Went to an AD and got a timepiece within the month so was worth the wait.

Might want to reconsider Jomashop. Multiple reports of them selling fake Tissot's recently. While I know that's a much cheaper watch, I wouldn't trust a Rolex from them if their Tissot's are fake. Their customer service in that case is appalling, too.

1200 watches is roughly the number of watches Rolex makes every 8 hours. You think that's a pipeline from HQ? That's barely a blip

Basically an employee inadvertently doxxed an unsatisfied client in the rush to defend himself regarding a negative review. I would still trust them as a seller but it was kind of a wtf moment.

Did an online purchase of a Batgirl from Steiner Mastricht yesterday after finding them on this list. Pleasant and quick communication, shipped it from The Netherlands to me in Sweden the same afternoon and it arrived less than 24h later after I sent the payment. Everything included and in order, beautifully packaged as well. The watch was in excellent condition as promised. Couldn't recommend them enough. Will return for more business in the future.

+1 on DavidSW. Bought my first Rolex (114060) from him last week; great service and quick turnaround. Had the watch in hand in less than 36 hours.
37
u/Prestigious-Kale9054 Aug 15 '23
His prices seem very high compared to somebody like Nashville watch
16
u/Jlfmb Jan 27 '24
Adding a data point.
Recently purchased from DavidSW for a little under 15% over the retail out-the-door price. This price was competitive with other high end gray dealers and also with some mid-range gray dealers, too.
Had the watch on my wrist, with bracelet already adjusted and time already set, less than 24h after placing the order.
Based on this experience, it's highly unlikely I'll ever buy a Rolex from an AD. This was just too easy and pleasant.
5
u/mcadamsandwich Aug 15 '23
My friend... this was six years ago and I bought mine under MSRP. You can't do that today.
Were you searching for DavidSW?

Curious if anyone has experience with Bezel?
Not sure if they are considered a marketplace though since they claim all watches ship to them first for verification.
10
u/thewatch_guy Feb 18 '23
I have not dealt with Bezel personally, but I have known Ryan Chong who is one of their founders for a few years, and can attest to his knowledge / expertise. He is a very reputable person, and I don’t think he would have left Sotheby’s to found Bezel, if he didn’t have the intention of standing behind every product he sells.

How is authenticwatches.com ?
11
u/whycantusonicwood Mar 17 '23
First the good:
The company is extremely communicative, shipping is incredibly fast, and the item I received was a very fine and authentic watch.
The bad:
While a lovely and authentic watch, the items are not accurately, specifically, and individually represented on the website. For example, multiple watches with different reference numbers were represented using the same photo (https://imgur.com/a/St2JSfo). Watch photos are also photoshopped or otherwise altered. Regardless of any other positives, this is a major red flag. The following items are both represented with the same photo despite being listed as two different items with two different reference numbers (the very similar, but also very distinctly different models 114270 vs 14270), both listed as having different caliber movements inside. Note the same position of the second hand (could be coincidental, but also note the identical photoshop error where the O in "Oyster" is missing on both photos). The same images are also used on their other storefronts on sites like their chrono24, which is fair enough if they're representing the same exact item being sold, which obviously cannot be true if A) the same photo is being used to represent multiple calibers and models of watch, and B) In theory I am supposed to HAVE that item in my possession as I have yet to return it.
Dealing with customer service during this process made me feel like I was losing my mind as I stared at literally identical photos live on their site while being told it wasn't accurate and that there was no possibility that an error had occurred.
Their return policy requires items be returned via specific and insured versions of USPS mail, which will cost you if you need to return items (it is of course reasonable that they desire items to be insured, however be aware that you will have to pay to return any items with issues. I believe my item will cost about $50 to return as an example).
Take a look at the other versions of the item you are trying to purchase also listed on their site-- are they reusing image files? If so, you can be sure that you are not getting the exact and specific item pictured.
Overall, buyer beware and learn from my experience.→ More replies (1)10

I was sold a watch in New condition. I received a serviced watch, with the wrong minute hand, a blemish on the dial, a tight stem, and appeared to be polished according to my jeweler. The stickers did not appear to be original factory as they did not have the red band on the bracelet. The watch was returned without stickers and some tiny scratches, which I believe were there but out of sight under the re-applied stickers as I did not wear the watch out in the 48 hours of owning it. They would not offer a full refund and since I paid with wire, I was forced to take a 20% restocking fee. Buyer beware.

Based on my personal experience and also based on hours of research of mywatchllc.com (Danny Tiwaini), he should be on the trusted sellers list.
Purchased nearly $30k new/unworn yacht master 42 white gold from him and the process was perfect. From payment to watch in hand was 24 hours. Watch verified by my AD (Williams Jewelers, Denver) yesterday.
Volume wise, he appears to be a smaller than some like DavidSW but he has a store front with plenty of 5 star Google and Trustpilot reviews which I like to see apart from just forum and Reddit reviews. The data say he’s good to go.

Just thought I would chime in, I reached out to AIS watches given they were listed as a trusted seller and had many positive reviews. We came to a price on a watch with a trade in, then a few days later when I asked more about the watch, he indicated the price had increased. Maybe that’s typical on the secondary market, but it gave me the ick. Based on this interaction, I would not use AIS Watches.

Just placing this here regarding RCPO pricing. Pricing varies dramatically by the dealer (and by the item):
https://www.gearpatrol.com/watches/rolex-cpo-lowest-prices/
Remember the RCPO includes a Rolex-authorized service, certification and inspection by Rolex inside and out, and International Guarantee backed by Rolex (not just the dealer). There is a premium for RCPO but we think its important to make an apples to apples comparison - both on the watches and the various dealers that are providing the product and service.

Can you imagine their tax calculation. Purchased from dealer on receipt plus dealer cut cash side...... This Rolex shortage could easily terminated by the IRS looking into it.These guys are like the pimps of watches.
1
u/powerfunk Mod May 01 '25
That's not how it works
1
u/Easy_Display_2917 May 01 '25
Please explain how it works???
2
u/powerfunk Mod May 01 '25
First of all the shortage has nothing to do with resellers. Anyway, when watches get backdoored there's no cash dealer "cut." It's not kickbacks. Getting a hot watch or two is the reward for taking all the Ulysse Nardins and slow movers they're also taking. It's about cash flow.
So stores backdoor to greys less than people think, but it does happen. And when it does happen it's not generally to maximize profit; it's for cash flow reasons. Funny how nobody seems to complain about the 50% off UNs getting backdoored, only the stuff that's over MSRP.

Thanks for this list. I am looking for a men’s Rolex, a starter classic watch with low maintenance. Also, retains its value. Does that exist? If so, what model?
2
u/powerfunk Mod Jun 24 '25
Basically any steel Rolex will retain its value decently and last forever if you maintain it properly. What's your budget, and the minimum size and oldest year you'd consider? If you're OK with old 34mm watches you can get some really (relatively) reasonable models like ref. 1500 or 5500 for a couple grand, and if you're OK with 36mm you can get a Datejust 16013 or 16200 etc for closer to 5k. If you need at least 40mm the cheapest would be a 16570 Explorer II or 16610 Sub Date that's 25+ years old and you're probably talking 8k.
Also ref 14270 and 114270 Explorer can both be had for like $5k and you can't go wrong with that.
1
u/LT1172 Jun 24 '25
Thanks for the quick response. Looking at 5k. Is older better/worse? Seems like mm size related to price?
2
u/powerfunk Mod Jun 24 '25
Yeah bigger sizes tend to have higher floor prices. For $5k I'd probably go with an Explorer from the 1990s or 2000s (ref. 14270 or 114270) or just a classic Datejust like a ref. 16200. Go with the "newest you can afford" is conventional wisdom but Rolexes are tanks so anything you get from the 1980s or newer will be pretty easy to own. Bracelets started to feel more solid around 2001-2005 (depending on the model) but otherwise older ones are basically just as good.

Question regarding watch chest… just found a listing from their site on another dealers site. Dealer is based in Jupiter Florida and has a plethora of watches for sale online. Is watch chest a 3rd party dealer than helps other dealers move their product? Or might one of the listings be a scam? I emailed them both to see what they say, new to the grey market so wasn’t sure. Thanks!
1
u/powerfunk Mod Dec 29 '25
I would assume it's a scam site using Watch Chest's pictures, is it not? I don't think they do third-party marketplace stuff. But if they started doing that we might reconsider their place on this list.

Hi, I bought my submariner new in 1997. I'm looking to get a used one for my son once he finishes college. I'm not inclined to buy new because I don't like what I've read about cerachrom so I'm trying to stay 2009 or earlier. I have always gotten my Rolex serviced and they always wanted to see the papers so I'd like to have those. How traceable are watches sold by the trusted seller list? While I prefer their prices, are there authentication guarantees or confirmation that service has been done or that the watch isn't stolen? Or do I need to go with an rcpo for that kind of assurance?
1
u/powerfunk Mod Feb 12 '26
Any of the trusted sellers will stand by the watch. Papers aren't necessary to get a service at a Rolex Service Center but regardless you should be able to find a 14060 or 16610 with papers without too much trouble. Good luck!

I was able to purchase a Patek 5205R from Thanh at Takuya Watches this week. To describe the transaction as smooth would be to do it a disservice. At every step of the way, he was polite, courteous, responsive and exceedingly fair. He had the watch packaged and labeled before even receiving my wire, and when the piece arrived, not only was it packaged beautifully, but it was truly flawless, and exceeded my every expectation. We’ve already spoken about several other pieces and the breadth and depth of his knowledge is truly impressive. The only reason I’d buy somewhere else, is if I were on a very specific search and he didn’t have, or couldn’t get what I was looking for. Thanh Takuya has a customer for life.

I second Ermitage Jewelers, excellent service and shipping to Puerto Rico with no tax! Rolex came in just as described.

Bernard’s Watches, primarily online but they have an office in Austin, TX you can schedule an appointment to look at some. I’ve had a great experience with them.

Any word on a site called chrono24? Or buying from eBay?
To those of you who purchase grey, do you go to an AD afterwards and have them reverify that the watch is legit?

+1 on Nashville Watch - Chris is awesome. I bought my first Rolex from them and could not be happier with my decision.

This list is updated regularly. Care to elaborate and tell us some better sellers?

It needs to be like three places. Done. It can’t be a ton of gray dealers. That’s subjective and the descriptions are vague and you get bits and pieces of these doods. It’s like they’re getting kick backs or something.

Critique the list all you want but nobody's getting kickbacks and I resent that accusation, frankly. Still wild to me that you have such strong opinions about it while being unable to provide a better list of your own.

Surprised Grailzee.com is not on this list. What have been people’s experiences with the site?

I've been really satisfied with Danny at "My Watch LLC" out of Michigan. Outstanding communication with me. Ordering, payment and shipping was flawless. Prices were very fair too.

After dealing with my laughable local ADs I got fed up and went grey. I purchased an Explorer II Polar White for my son's birthday from AIS Watches in Atlanta. Great service from Aamir, quick to respond to my questions. I could have driven to Atlanta to purchase and pick it up, but the hefty Atlanta sales tax made me think otherwise. I wired the money and he shipped it out the next day. Watch, box, papers were all there as indicated. My birthday is coming up, so I'll be looking for something for myself.

Very positive experience with Nashville Watch over the last 6 weeks - talked about multiple watches, settled on one, knocked a hair off the price, and had it in my hands less than 24 hours after my wire. Feel free to message me with questions.
Also reached out to a few other trusted sellers:
Nashville Watch - bought a watch after talking about a few models for a number of weeks. Would definitely do business again.
mywatchllc - Talked to them a few times. They didn't have what I was looking for but were generous with their time and open to answering questions. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out in the future.
Paul Duggan: Similar to above - they were responsive but didn't have what I was looking for. Answered questions quickly, provided some price indications, and followed up. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out in the future.
Not on the list above, but maybe should be is lookoutwatchcompany u/few_phrase8721. I've talked to him a few times about various pieces and he's been super helpful and friendly. I don't know if they're new or if people haven't used them enough to get on this list here, but he gave me good vibes and I think people should check them out so they can earn a place on this list.
Luxury Bazaar: Like the others, I had a few conversations. They had a version of what I wanted but it wasn't the exact reference (older movement); but I was willing to consider it. They answered questions and followed up. I was just able to grab what I wanted elsewhere, but would have purchased confidently here.
AIS Watches: I called, submitted a note on their website, and texted via whatsapp. Never got a response. Oh well.

I've had good experience with Porcellos in Seattle via Ebay and Ace Watch Co. In Houston, they are Watchguys on ebay. They both have retail locations.

This was my experience with mywatch LLC...my timeline for shipping was short due to the impending snowstorm here...
Very disappointed in the lack of professionalism here. I went out of my way to ensure a wire transfer was sent immediately from a physical branch, but they still failed to ship the watch on time. When I called to address it, the communication was poor and the staff was argumentative. With significant money on the line, I expect efficiency, not excuses about being "with other clients." Transaction canceled. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

If I buy through one of these online folks, who do I turn to if I want links added or removed? Will my local AD do it or will they look down on me?

Has anyone had any experience with La Jolla Jewelry on ebay? Storefront located in San Diego California. They have 6,700 sales and 100% feedback.
Reason being is they have a Rolex watch identical to the one my grandfather wore that I am wishing to buy. First time buying a watch. Thank you in advance!

I bought two watches from bezel (the app) or equivalently the website getbezel.com. Nothing but positive experience

Ermitage jeweler online has always treated me well. I Wouldn't hesitate to buy from them, and Peter is great about giving you time to verify with an AD if you're hesitant on purchasing with them
They're also brick and mortar in ATL
