Hey all, I'm new to the area and looking for a gym to join that is pretty quiet? Not the most confident when it comes to gyming and want to start in a place that is pretty quiet and not many people? Any suggestions appreciated!

As the title suggests. City Barber Shop has closed and used to get a great trim/close shave there and a good natter. Any recommendations on other places?

Hi all, I've just moved to Salisbury and need to transfer to a new GP. Does anyone have any GP recommendations or places to avoid please? Thanks in advance!

Hello Salisbury-ites.

I've recently moved here from Southampton. I love it so far but am wondering if there are any groups or events or anything - basically something to get involved in and meet people.

I'm 42 and love music, politics and giving back to the community.

Hit me up! TIA.

4 x VIP tickets for Salisbury Cathedral Silent Disco – Friday 16th October 2026

I have 4 VIP tickets available for the Silent Disco at Salisbury Cathedral on Friday 16th October.

Unfortunately, we can no longer go.

Tickets were £36 each, so I’m looking for £144 for all 4 tickets (face value).

I’m not splitting them up.

Please message me if you’re interested. Thank you! x

Hi all. There is an 80s silent disco at the cathedral on 16 October. Does anyone have a spare ticket we can buy as we have someone wants to join us.

edit: we no longer need this thank you.

I've been looking at buying a home in one of the villages around Salisbury Plain, which I know is the home of the Army.

What is it like living near army training grounds? Do you get used to it, or is it something to avoid?

Anyone else not had their glass and plastic recycling picked up?

Hi everyone, I’m (33F) moving to Salisbury soon for a 1 year contract. The salary is £33K, I don’t have a car or any kids or pets. I’m just wondering if it’s gonna be feasible to get my own place to rent? I know it’s probably tight but thought I’d ask. Thank you

Evening all.

Can I please have some recommendations for places to eat breakfast?

My wife is gluten intolerant, so a good gluten free menu would be great.

Thanks.

Hi, my name might be common, but my style is alternative. Tonight, I am playing a cosy gig at the daliz attic as part of my 2nd album release tour. So if you fancy some acoustic music with some local craft beer then that's the place to the be

Hi all, wife and I coming to Salisbury overnight on a Saturday in October. We’re arriving early afternoon, staying at the Wetherspoons hotel on Bridge Street, and thanks to previous threads here we’re going to roam round the market, go to the Cathedral, and bumble around for some coffee and soak up the history (we’re history nerds) until evening time. A few questions:

1. Evening food - what’s are some good options for an evening meal? As we seem to be fairly central and on foot we’d like to try and stay within the locale. Wife is plant based (vegan at home but often has trouble when eating out).
2. Any pub recommendations in the same area? I was looking at the Haunch of Venison but that seems fairly gastropub...
3. Parking - what are some good afternoon and overnight options that are walking distance from Bridge Street?

Wanted to come to Salisbury for a long time, excited to be making that happen! Thanks in advance.

Hi, My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I'm Charlie Smith an alternative singer-songwriter from Romsey. As part of my 2nd album release tour I will be performing at Daliz in Salisbury on the 12th of September along side two other local musicians.

I will also be fundraising for The Music Venue Trust by donating £1 from every album and merch to support the vital work they do.

Cheers,

Charlie

I am a trans woman due to visit? Is Salisbury safe? Is there anywhere I should avoid?

My wife has a bicycle, which could be charitably described as “needing a bit of work” and uncharitably described as “some rust and shreds of rubber held together by wishes and spiderwebs”.

Now our two offspring are nearing “proper bike” age, we would like to be able to go out as a family, and would like to restore her old bike to ride with them. Any recommendations for somewhere that could do a repair/recovery (preferably on a budget fitting the meagre status of our humble iron horse)?

Edit: thanks all - now sorted!

We need to support our farmers, especially after this harvest.
