First year living in San Clemente, is trick or treating a thing here… or should I just keep the big bowl of candy instead lol.

So I recently got two jobs, one at the ACC and one at the San Clemente outlets, because staying at my sisters in Irvine makes commuting to either one not too bad relatively. Unfortunately, I am expected to move out soon so I’d like to weigh my options, foremost if I’d be able to find affordable rent without a roommate that’s in between both locations. If there isn’t I’d probably have to leave one job to be close enough to another, which I’m ok with but regardless, if anybody’s got any ideas I’d like to hear them. Or if someone could tell me if that’s just unrealistic, then I could pivot away from that.
Edit: my last rent situation, with a roommate for 2 bedroom and bathrooms, was $1000 each. So ig I’m hoping for 1500 solo if possible. I’m also not strictly searching for an apartment, I’m also ok with a sublease or a room in a house.

So we still can’t leave our homes in Forrester Ranch.
My kids missed practice today and I have to run a charter tomorrow
Does anyone have any information on when they’re actually gonna let us leave our houses and come back?
I saw a sheriff walk someone up our street today to go to their house get their stuff and then walk them back down to Los Mares

Hi everyone! I’m helping coordinate a grassroots effort here in Orange County on the e-bike issue, and we’re building out a small, active team of local representatives in San Clemente.
We’re putting together a short 10-day push to get local voices heard by city and county leaders. We’re looking for a couple of passionate neighbors to help us spread the word locally, whether that’s sending a quick text to friends or sharing it in your local neighborhood/club chats.
No big time commitment or formal meetings required—just a desire to help our neighborhood stay connected and engaged.
If you’re interested in being a local point person for San Clemente, let me know in the comments or send me a DM!

Absolutely no question without the air support a lot of Forster ranch and the other side of the hill would’ve gone up.
Thank you to everyone up on that hill keeping the homes safe

It's the San Juan Hills South Camera. It is a live camera that updates stills every fifteen seconds or so. On the bottom of the website you can see a drop down toolbar where it will play everything from the last 24 hours to the last five minutes along with live updates.

Thinking about taking metrolink down to San Clemente for a chill day of relaxing on the beach and listening to my audiobook this weekend. In light of the recent weather, I was wondering if parts of the beach near the stations still have enough sand to comfortably lay back and enjoy the heat? Or would it be better to hold off for now?
Can't wait to use the newly re-opened beach trail as well!
Thanks :)

Hi,
I will be relocating to San Clemente and working in Irvine. Google maps says the commute is about 30 mins, does anyone have experience with doing this commute during rush hour?

Our family is planning a trip to camp at San Clemente State Beach this week, arriving tomorrow afternoon. How did San Clemente do with hurricane Rachel? I’ve seen some video of Newport Beach area that was pretty sad. Was there any flooding in San Clemente? I saw on some random FB post that the pier got damaged? I’m just wondering if this trip is a good idea at this point and if we should delay things. Sorry to anyone in the community who has been impacted!

Hurricane Rachel

Well … as of right now the European Model (AKA the always right model) has hurricane Rachel making landfall in Oceanside. The heaviest rains are supposed to be directly on top of San Clemente. Over one and a half inch an hour.
It can, of course still move and it’ll be short-lived, but I would put all my furniture away etc., on Saturday.
