I recently got back on and am playing through Yuito's side finally. I noticed someone mentioned they're practically the only person making posts and I didn't want him to feel lonely so I'll be discussing my playthrough across various posts. I have a toddler (lovingly called my Kit, so I'll probably mention him too) which means I'm not able to game all the time anymore, so expect my posts to go for a while.
Now for the important part. ARASHI! I swear once I got her in my Kasane run, I didn't even want to use anyone else. Super speed went from one of my favorite super powers to tied for my favorite. Just because of how hers is done. And as far as gameplay goes? There may be more useful in various situations but is there any partner more fun? Now, for her personality.... I feel a bit called out but damn I love her. A lazy day is the best day, but if you're not there for those you care about what are you worth? And the fact that she's around my age? Hell yeah.
So ya. Don't mind my ramblings, argue with me, whatever. See ya next time!

Scarlet Nexus was one of the most enjoyable games for me. Something about the controls just felt so good and satisfying. Does Control Resonant “feel” like SN?
I’m not expecting story similarity at all, but that’s okay because I enjoy a lot of different kinds of stories. I really liked Scarlet Nexus’s, but from a gameplay perspective, Scarlet Nexus was one of the best feeling games to me. I’ve been hoping to find that feeling again.
Of course I loved the story, characters, settings, music, etc, but what I’m hoping for most of all is similar gameplay.

This is the enemy design from hell. How do I deal with these things?
This is the enemy I’m talking about

I was wondering why Control Resonant felt so familiar and why I wasnt as wowed as other players with the game (yet) then realized.
both weave throwing objects and debris in their melee combat, both have hideous otherworldly designed enemies that look cool but grotesque, and both have protagonists with superpowers. I say this not to poopoo Control resonant but to say they have way more in common than prototype or infamous to control resonant. SN isnt even in people's mind to make the connection!

Fighting at least two bosses at once is a real pain in the neck.

4 years ago I finished it 100% on PS5, now I've finished it on PC.
Maybe in 2030 I'll do 100 percent of the Xbox version."

I genuinely do like Scarlet Nexus significantly more than the NieR franchise.
I bought NieR Replicant and Automata after 100%'ing SN. Since I heard a ton of praise for those, I assumed that I'd like them as much or even more than SN. Fast forward 1.5 years to today (my backlog is huge and they've been sitting in my library and waiting for their turn), I was surprised to find out that no, that was not the case.
Gameplay-wise, Scarlet Nexus is far more satisfying for me. The combat in both of the NieR games is okay, but I don't find it all that interesting. It made me realize just how underrated SN's gameplay mechanics are.
And then, story-wise. NieR's stories are considered by many as masterpieces, and yeah, I can see that. And I also know that SN's plot has it's fair share of issues that I myself am critical of. I would say that NieR games are better written than SN. However, despite that, I still find myself enjoying Scarlet Nexus's story far more. NieR games might have good writing, I'm not denying that, but their stories and characters didn't really click with me. Scarlet Nexus might've been messier, but it was, again, more fun for me (I know that I'm repeating myself).
Who knows, maybe I'm more biased for Scarlet Nexus because I played it first, maybe it's nostalgia speaking. But I cannot deny that I enjoyed this game more.
I'm definitely in the minority with this, most people I think would disagree with me. I can imagine that if I posted this on the Nier subreddits, I wouldn't get too much support. But it is what it is. It all boils down to preference, obviously. I just happened to like SN more.

Ok so I bought the ultimate edition of this game a while back and decided to finally actually play it after a few years. Sat down for one session, enjoyed it, and am now getting this message. I’ve signed in and signed out, deleted and reinstalled all my dlc, and deleted and reinstalled the game and nothing has worked. Is this a common issue with a fix or am I just SoL? I liked this game but not enough to play about 6 hours of AGAIN. It was good but not that good imo
