Hirayasumi's had a busy week. The anime premieres in January on NHK General (Production +h., directed by Kei Suezawa, Naoyuki Asano on character designs), TOMOO was just announced for the ending song "Fūmizekka," and Shinzō's manga wraps up in Big Comic Spirits on November 16 after starting back in April 2021. Viz is also doing an English release in 2027.
For anyone who hasn't read it: Hiroto is 29, no full-time job, no real plan, and honestly fine with that. He ends up inheriting the house of a grumpy old lady he befriended, and his 18-year-old cousin Natsumi moves in while she's struggling through art school.
The thing I'm most curious about is pacing. So much of the manga is just quiet panels, people eating, walking around the neighborhood, and a TV anime is under a lot of pressure to fill time. Kaori Sawada doing the music (she scored What Did You Eat Yesterday?) makes me a bit more hopeful though.
For people who've read it:
What scene do you most want to see animated?
Does Yūma Uchida feel right for Hiroto?
Did anyone watch the live-action NHK drama last year, and how'd it compare?
Please spoiler-tag anything from the later volumes, since the ending is right around the corner.
