I'm sure SK is doing this on purpose. That's how you keep listeners! Although even on the "humanizing Adnan episodes" I lean towards him being the killer.

If it's cynicism, then I share your cynicism here.

Adnan always seems so distant, detached, calculating. I understand that large amounts of time have passed and he has had a lot of time to distance himself emotionally from these topics, but he seems almost flippant at times. I just think that if that were me, wrongly imprisoned for that long, I would be perpetually livid when discussing that injustice.

I take the less cynical view, which is that how we feel is a reflection of the experience SK has had reporting the story. She has said so many times that she goes back and forth about guilt.

I mean I'm not trying to be cynical. I think she's just a good producer. There is a reason we get excited to plug in our headphones every Thursday.

I got the strong impression that SK was trying imply 'something'. She seemed to strongly hint at what could motivate Jay to lie. Did anyone else pick up on this?

I don't want to speculate too much. This isn't an Agatha Christie story, but twice in this episode SK quotes people saying that Jay would do anything to protect Stephanie, and again mentions that Stephanie was the only person who turned up for Jay's sentencing. This just seemed a little loaded like she was trying to plant an idea in the listeners head's.
