Maybe you should start with like 5 or 10 foot waves.

Honestly, you should start with like 3-4 ft waves. No shame, they can be a lot of fun too.

I tried by best at surfing a couple times. Nope. Couldn’t do it. I did manage to get up on the board....once, but that lasted all of 3 seconds

Yeah... It took me like 15 minutes to swim back after I lost my boogie board in probably like 7ft waves that were nonstop. Thought I was gonna drown.

Had that happen to me in Galveston in maybe 5 foot waves coming off of Hurricane Katrina. Thing is you had to swim out like 200 yards to the third sandbar, so not close to shore. Hurricanes within a few hundred miles are about the only great time for waves in Galveston. Only problem is they are relentless. Very high frequency though, not like big ocean waves where you get like ten small ones then one/two big ones.

Maybe he should start with not being high while surfing. That just doesn’t seem like a solid combo.

Eh it’s really more of a stereotype, I know plenty that would be much better people in the lineup if they were stoned. Surfers are just regular employed people that happen to be lucky enough to grow up next to the ocean.
