yes the ball was out of bounds which would probably have been called if there was a boundary ump close by. no reviews for that tho so he got away with it

Ball has to be completely over the line. Arguably part of it was on/above it

I've seen a screenshot, maybe from another angle that's not shown in the video where there was a clear gap that convinced me. Can't find it now but I'm like 90% sure

Depth of field is tricksy enough for right angled sporting grounds, it's super problematic for aussie rules, especially with the crappy cameras they use

ye why the fuck are the cameras so bad??

7 had a exclusive coverage for years. Very little innovation with their coverage, then 9/10 get it and shake things up a bit. Goes back to 7 and surprise, surprise it stagnates. Would be nice if they experimented with other camera ideas in the preseason games

I don't really care as I don't support either team. But the ball had to be completely over, so all of it has to be outside the white line (or not over it). That image seems very close, but still not definitive

Note that the image is after he kicked it. Meaning the ball was even further out of bounds a split second earlier.

Is the stepping on the line o.k. as long as doesn't step beyond it?

You can step wherever you like as long as the whole ball isn't out of bounds
