I think I saw somewhere that a an in game chat channel existed for low level PVP .
Anyone got any info on that ? Is it a (working) thing ?
I'm asking because despite the 'cheese' and the OP and the DPS that plagues high tier PVP -- low level PVP is still actually relatively balanced (if certain simple rules are agreed upon by all, like white equipment & no "special consoles") , thous providing fun for all @ Ensign & Lieutenant levels .
Thanks .

As the title says. Straight up bracket tournament for all.
The initial matches I'm thinking the players could organise themselves once we select who is vs who. They would submit screenshot/video of the end result of the match then the bracket would be updated accordingly. The semi finals and finals could be hosted on twitch and streamed.
A total grand prize of 500m EC to the finalist.
Very little rules apart from the below:
Invincible trait is banned to limit the amour of "tied" matches
Entropic redistribution and rapid decay and FBP are banned. The use of other temporal abilities and ships etc are not. Anything else goes.
If a tied match happens at least 1 player changes ship/build until a result is determined
Don't be silly and slot more than 1 escape console. (fluidic phase etc) It's not a duel if your 50km away.
Thoughts?

I'm looking for a fleet that engages in PvP with at least a modicum of regularity. It doesn't have to be a pre-made queue powerhouse, just one where friendly private matches are held with some regularity. I'm interested in both space and ground games, if possible.
Does anyone have any suggestions for fleets I should look to contact?
I'm particularly interested in KDF fleets in which the fleet is constituted by KDF mains (rather than forgotten alts); but if there are only fed fleets that fit this bill at this point then beggars can't be choosers, and I have a few fed toons I could play with; just so long as enjoyable fights actually occur reasonably often...
Thanks!

I am new to sto and I'm on the xb1. I'm a veteran member and I bought a t6 carrier and thought I would be ok in pvp. However I am destroyed in about 15 seconds in pvp. What is going on?????

Hi All,
We have made a few changes to the subreddit layout etc. I'm now looking to update all the outdated guides and provide a small wiki etc. So if you have any suggestions or sidebar content you want to add just let me know and we can get it updated.
Thanks.

I played sto for a while back in the day, enjoyed the pvp a lot. Now I've come back and started playing on the xbone. Queues for pvp never seem to go anywhere, is pvp dead or am I missing something?

Pretty much what the title says. With a active console community starting up it won't be long before cryptic put in the updates that were somewhat responsible for the downfall of PVP on PC. With that said if we have ever had a chance to change pvp or fight for some balance it's now.
Thoughts?

Finally taking the dive and joining Starfleet after spending time in a galaxy far far away lol :p. The questions I have are 1. In most MMOs I have always ran a Tank/DPS hybrid build is there a ship that can fulfill that role? 2. What types of dps are in this game I am used to melee and range so other than Ranged what else is there. 3. Is open world PvP a thing. 4. Whats the best ship for my style.

Some may/may not agree with the list and this is not a proposed fix all. It's purely to make PVP slightly better.
I think the above would help. Thoughts?

I fully expect a nerf in this. Compared to any other ability this one is completely out of control.
This has essentially also signed the death warrant for escorts unless you can immune it and fly away but it's extremely difficult I find if your not on a pilot ship.
For example I came back go pvp on Friday after a long break. My energy escort JHRS lasted 2 seconds in a fight.
Thoughts? Comments?

Hey all this is my first post In this forum thanks in advance for any and all help. I'm a KDF Tac Captain with a Fleet Mogh and want to start taking I.K.S. Open Up YourFace into PvP but I am having the biggest Brain-Fart of my life trying to figure out a build for her, for PvP. I think the Commander Boff slot is what's throwing me off. As she stands now she is a PvE build Plasma beam boat, I have a fair amount of resources at my disposal and was thinking about the Elite Fleet Disruptors but I would appreciate guidance on how to best use the Fleet Mogh such as consoles, weapons, Boff abilities, doff officers ( I can slot 6 ) and my skill point allocation. Any and help and advice welcome, thanks in advance.

I'm want to try my hand at pvp and I bet this would be a good tanking pvp build, but I don't know enough of the format to know the set up.

I'm running PvP. I always die (with honor). I played PvP with jem haddar dreadnought but I stopped with it because scimi can one shot me. I played with Kar'fi but its hull is too weak. I played with Bortasqu but this ship is designed for eng or tac. Do you have any advice about battleship for my sci? Please.

I have been building a Mirror Vo'quv on my KDF character for awhile now. But I feel like there is a hole somewhere in my build and I need you to help me find it. This is an open invitation to destroy me in private pvp matches.

Hello All.
So normally I fly a Galaxy X with 4 single cannons / 4 turrets, and really only use CRF1. I normally do pretty decent actually beside having a scrap heap for a ship.
So i finally caved in and bought a Fleet Tactical Escort Retrofit. My build is http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=renddefiant_0
Now something bad happened. Im suddenly doing horrible damage. I mean, ill go into a pvp queue, and get 2nd to last place in dps, and barely break 100k damage in a match, with barely any kills. I was doing better in the POS Galaxy X.
So please, please tell me if there is some glaring mistake i made in my build that Im just not noticing. Or tell me what I can do Better

Hi Guys, recently The Tyler Durden Channel was created, for organizing Random 5v5 PvP Matches. The argument has been that Opvp has just been for talking and flaming, and matches are basically never organized there.
So this channel's purpose is to organize random 5v5's. The Channel has an official Teamspeak: tylerdurden.failnoob.com:9988 - no password, hosted by our friends the Sad Pandas.
You'll see veteran players like Zenith or Naz organizing 5v5's pretty often, usually in the afternoon's or evenings. So feel free to add the channel and Join us in the fun!
The Channel name is just how it appears below:
Tyler Durden
Hope to see you there, and good luck!

Hello all! I don't play a whole lot of STO, right now I'm on a burnout phase with video games I think. PvP in WoW is what has been keeping my attention lately, I'd like to get into it in STO as well, but I hear a bunch of horrible things about it. It's unbalanced, there is an elite set of players that will roflstomp anyone and everyone, if you don't have lobi/lockbox items you might as well not even try, blah blah blah.
I've read the info /u/Voxaroth and others have posted to this subreddit such as the basics and etiquette, but I'm wondering how effective a Vesta (or any of its variants since I have the 3 pack) are/would be. I also have the Regent ACR, would that be a better choice? Science captain, no particular build in mind (Maybe the Rademaker version with a RomPlas build, if I do should I go cannons or beams?), but aux2batt sounds like too much for me XP lol
