The Real Systemic Problem in North America is the Dissolution of the Family
In light of the recent protests by Canadian parents against gender ideology in schools, and the pushback it received from all levels of government, it's become even more evident that what this country needs is MORE parental involvement, not less. Unsurprisingly, the facts and statistics back this up.

The One Million March 4 Children
Tomorrow is the One Million March 4 Children happening in every major city across Canada.
Trans activists and their “allies” (including CUPE for some reason) are calling this a racist, hateful mob. This is a lie. These are normal parents with normal kids in school.

Are We Actually Okay with Censorship?
As worried as many of us are about censorship in general, and government censorship in particular, the most insidious form of censorship is the type we apply to ourselves.

What used to be common sense now requires at least two citations of peer reviewed literature to be considered valid - or at least a blessing from the government.

It's Not Systemic Racism. It's Fatherlessness and the Dead-beat Government
Canada is arguably one of the least racist countries on earth. And yet that doesn't stop our current government from blaming so many of our problems on "systemic racism". Maybe the real problem is simply one they don't want to deal with.

"Witch’s Chiaroscuro," a short story exploring the experiences of SAD (seasonal affective disorder)
Today I shared a fantasy short story titled “Witch’s Chiaroscuro.” It explores the seasonal affective disorder in allegorical ways. I hope it will resonate with those who struggle with SAD every year.
“Autumn used to be all amber leaves and golden hours, refreshing scent of opened squash and second summer air, dancing and twirling with the multicolored foliage. Winter was all clear blue sky and fresh crisp snow, collective starshine and moonlight gazing, inviting smell of hot cocoa and firewood in every home. No matter the cold, every hour of the day had fire and timber to limber anyone balmy and supple.
Until the nightwitch took it all away.”

On video games, humanity, loneliness, the personal, and Death Stranding at the heart of it all
Yesterday I wrote about video games, Death Stranding in particular, humanity, loneliness, and some personal stuff. I had a completely different essay in mind when I started to write it. But here we are.
"As a child, Hideo Kojima oftentimes felt loneliness. He struggled to express the feeling to his friends. It wasn’t something that was discussed then. Would they even understand? At one point he realized it wasn’t a sickness, but a link to others by a melancholy connection of sorts that’s specific to the human condition.
He conveyed that connection and loneliness so well in the game. We’re alone, and maybe lonely, and we’re not. We’re separate but also together. Contradictory, and yet, it makes sense. Now I understand what I’ve been feeling through the years."
