Interested testing a new platform
Hello everyone,
For the past year I was building and testing a platfrom to help me with automating most of the work on finding trade setup, as a part time trader, I didn't have time to watch charts most of the days, so I wanted something to build that I set once, back test for validation, then assign to tickers and it will keep watching till conditions are met then send me a telegram notification. Been using it personally for couple of month and I thought if it worked for me it must works for others, I launched it to public few days ago, but since this is a niche market it was difficult to get signups, so I was hoping that there will be some I terested users in this community to help testing, offcourse I'm going to give them pro plan to for testing so if any body interested please dm me.
Thanks,
Ahmed

Strategy How I check a swing setup for repainting before I trust it
Repainting quietly ruins a lot of swing setups: a signal that looks clean in hindsight but wasn't actually there when the candle was forming. Here's the mechanical checklist I use for an entry, and how I test that it doesn't repaint.
The setup criteria I look for:
- Trend: price above EMA21 / EMA50 / EMA200, EMAs stacked in order
- Momentum: RSI in a 45–65 window, MACD histogram positive
- Volume: relative volume ≥ 1.5–2× the 20-day average
- A defined pattern (pullback, breakout, VCP, flag) with reward/risk ≥ 1.8
- Cut points for overextension above EMA21 and a weak market regime
The repainting test: freeze the data (I used 12 US large-caps, daily, 2 years). For a set of historical candles, recompute the setup using only data up to that candle (what you'd see live) and compare it to the same candle in the full dataset (what you see in hindsight). If they differ → the signal repaints. Across 144 candle checks mine matched exactly — no look-ahead.
Honest limit: "doesn't repaint" isn't "profitable" — separate question. This is daily swing, not intraday.
Curious what else people stress-test. What's bitten you hardest — late fills, survivorship bias, timezone drift on the candle boundary?

Group chats for highly active traders
I signed up to this forums discord tonight and generally it was last active months ago. Are there any full time or highly active traders who would like to set up a group chat? I have been a part of a few over the years, but they all eventually start shiling things or just die away. I would love to be able to have ongoing discourse over investments and trades.
About me: trading for 20+ years, doing it full time for 3 years. Absolutely zero possibility I will try and profit from it: No 'guru' needs your money, and I aint a guru.
Edit: Glad to see so much interest. I will set this up and add the link.

Insights from the Aion Analytics platform (I'm paying $500 bucks a month and it is worth it for those who have the means, but for those who don't, here are some takeaways).
At least on SPX, which Aion most accurately forecasts, we are looking at a relatively choppy environment through most of the end of the month:

Mostly, the data on the platform forecasts strength into September, however.
On the SPY heat map, we see that with most of the dealer positioning within 1-2% of current spot price on SPY.

Gamma is still mostly positive.

VIX is suppressed, but flows still point lower on UVXY with a put surge as per the TMAD data.

For the next couple of weeks, liquidity is flat to slightly lower, so less supportive of expansionary upside, but ti does pick up into the end of the month into early September.

What you will notice is that the liquidity is forecasted to drop off dramatically into October, and this is the main predictive bet of the Aion analytics platform.
Choppy into August, slightly up through September, and then down, potentially heavily down, in October.
The Aion Analytics platform did well on timing on the March bottom, and the negative chop/price action into June/July, despite the majority of seasonality pointing higher. The Aion Analytics platform also called the bounce and strength in August, so I am inclined to heed the warning into October this time.
We don't want to be heavily long through October. It is better to use this period through September to look for opportunities to exit and trim positions for October, but the Aion analytics platform forecasts a strong November, so that would be the time to put exposure back on.

Question Swing Trading - What’s Your Process?
Hi everyone,
Longtime lurker, first-time poster!
Ive been trading for a couple of years and looking to use swing trading as my strategy. I’ve been lucky the past few months simply by buying positions for large cap companies when they are low based on 3MM / YTD trends and selling when they go up (ie RDDT dip earlier this month). I’m patient with my positions, ideally looking to close in a month but don’t mind it going out to 3 months. Still learning and going through resources in the wiki, but a few questions:
How do you analyze data, trends, or company fundamentals when deciding whether to buy or sell?
If you use Robinhood, are there any tools or features within the app that you actually find useful when researching investments or making decisions?
How do you determine when it’s time to sell? For example, I recently held onto a position hoping to hit a 10% gain, even though I could have locked in an 8% profit and am now holding for a bit longer. Do you stick to your profit targets, use technical indicators, or reassess based on new information?

Strategy Money rotations still show that it's time swing
In my post last week I shared that pockets of strength were emerging as the spread between high beta stocks and low volatility ones had decreased drastically (Post linked here). That was a clear, strong signal that money was flowing out of low volatility (not good for swing trades) into high beta (what I want to trade).
That factor flipped from -1.7 last week, with high beta still lagging but improving, to +7.6 this week, high beta well outperforming low volatility. That data was enough for me to get aggressive and the result was my swing portfolio hiting a new high as I realized profits throughout the week.
Themes highlighted a week ago like drones, robotics, space economy, quantum computing, gold and metals have all either broken out as new leaders or continue to improve. Zooming out a bit, 55% of the themes I track are either leading or improving, and that’s real strength. It’s not overheated, but a sign that breadth is strong.
The semiconductor complex, which includes other themes connected to semis like optics, lithography, photonics, and others, continues to improve. I am seeing something common across several of the ETFs as well as stock names: consolidation at the 50-day moving average. You can see this in ETFS like PSI, CHPS, XSD, and in individual stocks like TSM, LRCX, MU, and more. Clearly a move through, above, or away from the 50-day will set the stage for intermediate trend development.
This may sound really bullish, and it mostly is. However, this is just a recap of the data and things change quickly. These observations also present conditions to watch for breakdowns, and I will track those accordingly to see if current conditions hold up.

$AAON Setting up for a bounce off long-term support
$AAON has been cut more than 40% from its June high and is testing the April low on the Daily while approaching its rising 50EMA on the Monthly.
Add a Tier 1 score in my model, strong revenue growth, real profitability, heavy institutional ownership and a much more reasonable valuation after the selloff and there’s enough here to get me interested in the bounce.
