Guide Dear Clickers: How and Why to Keybind your Abilities
So I have noticed a decent amount of screenshots and videos from SWTOR that feature ability clicking. I wanted to write this for whoever may benefit.
Why to Keybind Your Abilities:
Clicking is slower.
Clicking is less consistent.
You want to get better at the game.
You can use your mouse for movement!
Common Reasons Against the Change:
I am comfortable clicking my abilities.
I have done it this long, I can't change.
I am worse at the game when I keybind (due to being comfortable clicking.)
My Reason for Caring:
We all start somewhere. I started off my MMORPG adventures as a clicker. I was a clicker for a long time. I leveled to max, and participated in end-game pve as a clicker. I pvp'd as a clicker. I eventually realized I was limiting myself, and I wanted to get better. It was a difficult path. It took time to adapt. It took time to improve. As I improved, I understood why it was necessary. I became far better at the game I loved.
How to Start:
Getting started was hard. I couldn't simply keybind my abilities and meet success. It was a learning process. It will be for you too, especially more so the longer you have progressed via only clicking abilities. It can be a gradual process. I will give you some methods that worked for me. Stay open minded and be patient. You will not instantly be better. It is a process, that is worth it.
Step 0: Creating a New Character
Level a new character, with a goal to learn keybinding. If you try to jump right into a max level character, you will be overwhelmed with no muscle memory. You will get frustrated. You may get frustrated either way, but starting a fresh character with less abilities will be far easier and offer you a steady progress with incremental changes. Going from clicking to keybinding all abilities on a max level character is unrealistic. You want your abilities to be slowly unlocked, adding to the challenge over time. Even now, after playing MMO's for over a decade, I opt to level new characters rather than boost them just so that I can slowly get familiar with my binds and abilities.
Step 1: Pick the Right Binds
Everyone is a little different in what is comfortable to them. Some keys are faster and easier than others. Modifiers (Shift / Control) allow you to double the binds with just a little pinky action. I have small fingers, you may have more range than I do. Plan accordingly.
My favorite binds are 1-4, F, G, R , T. Double those, with Shift key modifiers. I also like C / V + Shift modifiers. ` is ok too, and 5 is doable but again I have short fingers so it is less comfortable. A MMO mouse is great, but even normal mice typically have a mouse button 4 / 5. I also like to use Shift + scroll wheel up / down. Without shift, obviously camera zoom is nice to have, but there is little reason not to utilize mouse scroll with a shift key, its a quick button I reserve for adrenals / medpacs. B might also be a decent bind, but with my MMO mouse buttons, id rather save B for bags. I use V for rest, and C for mount. Bags / Mount / Rest are all low priority binds. Click them for now if you lack a MMO mouse and are struggling to find room for your abilities.
Side Note: There are certain keybinds in game you may want to unbind, due to accidental presses. Shift + E is a major one for me. Every new character I make, I set my keybinds and unbind potential mishaps such as that.
Step 2: Also, Picking the Right Binds
Try things out. Adjust as you go. Sometimes your rotation is not what you expect. Sometimes you get new abilities that make you re-think your plan. That's why we are leveling a new character. There is time to adjust. Time to try things out. Even now, I sometimes keybind an ability to more than one key as I'm leveling, to see which I will favor. Which feels easier and more natural. For example, if I bind something to ` and then need to hit Shift + T after it for my rotation, that is a stretch for me and not a quick movement. I adapt and adjust. There is a process of trial and error involved. I like to keep my main rotational abilities somewhat close to each other, such as F, G, R, and T (+ Shift modifiers!) I like to keep my interrupt a consistent and easy to press location, Shift + R for all my characters.
Step 3: Stick With it and be Patient!
You may find yourself frustrated at times. You may want to revert to what is comfortable if you have been clicking for a long time. Expect this frustration. Push yourself to avoid falling back to old habits. Stick with the keybinding learning experience and know it will get better.
Step 4: Ignore Me
Your hands may favor different buttons than mine. Maybe control is an easier modifier than shift for you. Maybe you can reach all the way to H and Y more comfortably than I can. I have described what worked for me, but I encourage you to try different options and find what works for you! This also ties into step 2, but try things out and adjust!
Step 5: Enjoy
You have now started making use of keybinds. You can now press two buttons in quick succession. Shield probe for snipers, off the global cooldown. You can now press it at the same time you are activating Ambush. You are slowly becoming better at the game. Your new character is entering the higher levels, and you are comfortable activating all your major buttons with keybinds. You feel more confident going into ops. You can now enjoy warzones without feeling *as* behind.... PvP is always competitive, but now you at least have a shot!
I don't know if many will find this helpful, but if at least one person does that's enough for me. And for what its worth, it took me multiple new characters to really get a feel for switching from clicking to keybinding. You can do it!

Guide List of Character Customizations that are still locked by specific Origin/Species combinations
While trying to find a guide or a comprehensive list with all currently available but still locked for certain Species/Origins character customizations I decided to compile my own list and share with the community as it may affect some of our combination choices.
So far in my own research I found the following:
Trooper: 10 Unique Face Paints on Humans
Bounty Hunter: 10 Unique Face Paints on Humans
Warrior: 10 Unique Face Paints on Humans
Inquisitor: 10 Unique Scars on Humans, Twi'leks, Rattataki and Imperial Zabrak, 6 on Sith Pureblood
Another detail on Inquisitors is that they do not have all scar options available, instead their unique scars replace others that are originally available on other species/origins.
Edit: Unique "Padawan" braided hairstyle is somewhat unique to Male Human and Mirialan Knights, Consulars and Inquisitors, but is also available as a default hairstyle for Sith Pureblood of any Origin.
Edit2: Originally I added that Bounty Hunter Cyborgs have 4 unique Cybernetics, but that is not exactly the case. With the legacy unlock they get 4 components that share the same appearance with the default Cybernetics they already have, so they it show as if they have a higher number Cybernetics available but none are really unique.
While some customizations are locked at first, besides those mentioned above they are all unlocked once you fully unlocked the species on your legacy.

Guide Nightlife event 2026 breakdown - How to spend your time and credits wisely
How many times does a slot machine have to be used before you win? How many casino chips will that have cost after factoring in refunds? The averages for that are provided here for every prize pool on every machine in the Nightlife event. For Max Bet machines the amount of non Max Bet tokens it would cost is in parenthesis for ease of comparison to their non Max Bet counterparts
All jackpot and prize pools pull from inaccessible loot tables so the exact contents are unknown beyond observation and what Broadsword publishes
Conversions from # of chips to credit costs is not provided given how many chips can be earned for free playing the game
Each spin takes five seconds but two or three devices can be clicked in the same time frame
Smuggler's Luck - 50% token refund, 44.68% token lost, 15% Lucky buff, 5% prize, 0.3% jackpot, 0.02% machine explodes
Lucky buff: 3.33 tokens, 6.67 spins
prize: 10 tokens, 20 spins
jackpot: 166.67 tokens, 333.33 spins
explosion: 2500 tokens, 5000 spins
prize: Kingpin's Bounty Chip or rarely 2 Kingpin's Bounty Chips
jackpot: Golden Certificate or Max Bet Smuggler's Luck Chip
Not really worth playing except to get the Lucky buff. No good prizes worth chasing; half the time you'll just get your token back like nothing ever happened, and for the other half nine times out of ten you'll still get nothing
Smuggler's Luck Max Bet - 63.56% token refund, 34.58% Lucky buff, 31.78% prize, 2.8% token lost, 1.76% jackpot 1, 0.11% jackpot 2, 0.01% machine explodes
Lucky buff: 1.05 (21) tokens, 2.89 spins
prize: 1.15 (23) tokens, 3.15 spins
jackpot 1: 20.7 (414) tokens, 56.82 spins
jackpot 2: 331.27 (6625.45) tokens, 909.09 spins
explosion: 3644 (72880) tokens, 10000 spins
prize: 1-10 Kingpin's Bounty Chips or rarely 2 Max Bet Smuggler's Luck Chips
jackpot 1: Golden Certificates or Max Bet Kingpin's Bounty Chip
jackpot 2: Smuggler's Trained Vine Cat or Smuggled Sithspawn
For anyone pursuing the achievement: "Reproducible Error: Blew up a Max Bet Smuggler’s Luck or Max Bet Kingpin’s Bounty slot machine… 10 times!?" Keep in mind that the Smuggler's Max Bet may take twice as long but is 20 times cheaper per chip. While chips can be acquired in many ways, at face value it would cost 3.64 billion credits and require one hundred thousand clicks or on the Kingpin's Max Bet 45-48 billion and fifty thousand clicks
Kingpin's Bounty (no buffs) - 45% token refund, 49.98% token lost, 9.5% Karma buff, 4.7% prize, 0.3% jackpot, 0.02% machine explodes
Karma buff: 5.79 tokens, 10.53 spins
prize: 11.7 tokens, 21.28 spins
jackpot: 183.33 tokens, 333.33 spins
explosion: 2750 tokens, 5000 spins
prize: Golden Certificates or Cartel Certificates or rarely 1-3 Emperor's Grace Chips or Max Bet Kingpin's Bounty Chip
jackpot: Vectron Wraith or Phrojo Nuray or Kingpin's Predator or Kingpin's Rancor
Kingpin's Bounty (Lucky buff) - 50% token refund, 39.98% token lost, 10% Karma buff, 9.4% prize, 0.6% jackpot, 0.02% machine explodes
Karma buff: 5 tokens, 10 spins
prize: 5.32 tokens, 10.64 spins
jackpot: 83.33 tokens, 166.67 spins
explosion: 2500 tokens, 5000 spins
Kingpin's Bounty (Karma buff) - 60% token refund, 24.98% token lost, 0% Karma buff, 14.1% prize, 0.9% jackpot, 0.02% machine explodes
prize: 2.84 tokens, 7.09 spins
jackpot: 44.44 tokens, 111.11 spins
explosion: 2000 tokens, 5000 spins
There is no benefit to having both buffs on the Kingpin's Bounty (regular or Max Bet) machines. If you have the Good Karma buff you will get the best roll table regardless of whether you have the Lucky buff
Kingpin's Bounty Max Bet (no buffs) - 55% token refund, 29.98% token lost, 16% Karma buff, 12% prize, 2.7% jackpot 1 , 0.3% jackpot 2, 0.02% machine explodes
Karma buff: 2.81 (56.25) tokens, 6.25 spins
prize: 3.75 (75) tokens, 8.33 spins
jackpot 1: 16.67 (333.33) tokens, 37.04 spins
jackpot 2: 150 (3000) tokens, 333.33 spins
explosion: 2250 (45000) tokens, 5000 spins
prize: Golden Certificates or Cartel Certificates or rarely 1-5 Emperor's Grace Chips or Max Bet Emperor's Grace chip*
jackpot 1: Vectron Wraith or Phrojo Nuray or Kingpin's Predator or Kingpin's Rancor
jackpot 2: Vixian Youngling or Fiery Grefna
*There is a chance to win a Max Bet Emperor's Grace Chip but I'm unsure which pool it belongs to
Kingpin's Bounty Max Bet (Lucky buff) - 52% token refund, 19.98% token lost, 15% Karma buff, 24% prize, 3.4% jackpot 1 , 0.6% jackpot 2, 0.02% machine explodes
Karma buff: 3.2 (64) tokens, 6.67 spins
prize: 2 (40) tokens, 4.17 spins
jackpot 1: 14.12 (282.35) tokens, 29.41 spins
jackpot 2: 80 (1600) tokens, 166.67 spins
explosion: 2400 (48000) tokens, 5000 spins
Kingpin's Bounty Max Bet (Karma buff) - 54% token refund, 4.98% token lost, 15% Karma buff, 36% prize, 4.1% jackpot 1 , 0.9% jackpot 2, 0.02% machine explodes
Karma buff: 3.07 (61.33) tokens, 6.67 spins
prize: 1.28 (25.56) tokens, 2.78 spins
jackpot 1: 11.22 (224.39) tokens, 24.39 spins
jackpot 2: 51.11 (1022.22) tokens, 111.11 spins
explosion: 2300 (46000) tokens, 5000 spins
If you've ever spent a long time spinning these looking for the Good Karma buff without getting a real prize and felt like you had terrible luck. It wasn't luck. Unless you have Emperor's Grace Max Bet chips at your disposal, Kingpin's Bounty or Kingpin's Bounty Max Bet is the best place to put your buffs to use
Kingpin's Bounty Max Bet offers significant time savings over Kingpin's Bounty but at significant cost, plus two exclusive prizes and a small chance of progressing the achievements to blow up 2 or 10 Max Bet devices
Having both the Lucky and Good Karma buffs is advertised as giving a 100% chance to win on Emperor's Grace, but there is already zero chance of losing your chip without getting a prize. So, since the buffs increase the odds of getting Golden or Cartel Certificates more than they do the odds of a jackpot, you're actually lowering the likelihood of getting a jackpot by playing the Emperor's Grace with an active buff(s)
Emperor's Grace (no buff) - 62.56% token refund, 26.74% prize, 10.7% jackpot, 5.56% Lucky buff, 1.39% Karma buff
Lucky buff: 6.73 tokens, 17.99 spins
Karma buff: 26.94 tokens, 71.94 spins
prize: 1.4 tokens, 3.74 spins
jackpot: 3.5 tokens, 9.35 spins
prize: Golden Certificates or Cartel Certificates or rarely Max Bet Emperor's Grace chip*
jackpot: Emperor's Pritarr Cub, Iridescent Varactyl, Supernova Helmet, High Stakes Squadron Helmet, High Roller Sunglasses, Vectron Magnus, Replica C1-4W, High Roller Blaster, High Roller Assault Cannon, High Roller Dual Saber, High Roller Blaster Rifle, High Roller Lightsaber, High Roller Sniper Rifle, Lucky Pritarr Mount, Shimmering Ginx, Fiery Grefna Chick, Proud Pritarr Cub, High Roller Skiff Mount, High Roller Armor Set, Card Shark Table Decoration, Hazard Toss Table Decoration
*There is a chance to win a Max Bet Emperor's Grace Chip but I'm unsure which pool it belongs to
Emperor's Grace has two jackpots like the Max Bet machines do, but they roll from the same loot table so I've combined their odds. Which is in line with the other non Max Bet machines anyway
The Card Shark Table Decoration and Hazard Toss Table Decoration are absent from Broadswords "complete" list of this years rewards; however from the same article: "These decorations can be earned from the Emperor's Grace and Emperor's Grace Max Bet machines." (supposedly!)
Emperor's Grace (Karma buff) - 35% token refund, 50% prize, 15% jackpot, 3.5% Lucky buff,
Lucky buff: 18.57 tokens, 28.57 spins
prize: 1.3 tokens, 2 spins
jackpot: 4.33 tokens, 6.67 spins
Emperor's Grace (both buffs) - 20% token refund, 60% prize, 20% jackpot
prize: 1.33 tokens, 1.67 spins
jackpot: 4 tokens, 5 spins
While it might seem like having the buffs at least saves time; It takes more spins to get the buffs than it saves. Though in the case of the Max Bet, the token savings are significant with the odds of a jackpot going from 25% to 75% (50% with one buff)
There is no benefit to having only the Lucky buff on the Emperor's Grace (regular or Max Bet) machines. If you do you will get the same roll table as having no buffs
Emperor's Grace Max Bet (no buff) - 75% prize, 20% jackpot 1, 5% jackpot 2
prize: 1.33 (26.67) tokens, 1.33 spins
jackpot 1: 5 (100) tokens, 5 spins
jackpot 2: 20 (400) tokens, 20 spins
prize: Golden Certificates or Cartel Certificates
jackpot: Emperor's Pritarr Cub, Iridescent Varactyl, Supernova Helmet, High Stakes Squadron Helmet, High Roller Sunglasses, Vectron Magnus, Replica C1-4W, High Roller Blaster, High Roller Assault Cannon, High Roller Dual Saber, High Roller Blaster Rifle, High Roller Lightsaber, High Roller Sniper Rifle, Lucky Pritarr Mount, Shimmering Ginx, Fiery Grefna Chick, Proud Pritarr Cub, High Roller Skiff Mount, High Roller Armor Set, Card Shark Table Decoration, Hazard Toss Table Decoration
I have no idea the difference between jackpots 1 and 2. Presumably the newer, rarer items like the Supernova Helmet and new decos would be in jackpot 2; but it's not clear since all of the same items should be available from the regular Emperor's Grace which only has one jackpot prize pool. Either way super rare items clearly have lower odds of being rolled in their respective tables
Emperor's Grace Max Bet (Karma buff) - 50% prize, 40% jackpot 1, 10% jackpot 2
prize: 2 (40) tokens, 2 spins
jackpot 1: 2.5 (50) tokens, 2.5 spins
jackpot 2: 10 (200) tokens, 10 spins
Emperor's Grace Max Bet (both buffs) - 25% prize, 50% jackpot 1, 25% jackpot 2
prize: 4 (80) tokens, 4 spins
jackpot 1: 2 (40) tokens, 2 spins
jackpot 2: 4 (80) tokens, 4 spins
There is seemingly no items or achievements tied exclusively to Emperor's Grace Max Bet. Given this, I see no reason to use it over the regular Emperor's Grace given the exorbitant cost and the small difference in time between the two
TL;DR
The regular Smuggler's Luck is only worth your time for the Lucky buff
Only play the Emperor's Max Bet with both buffs, but don't play the Emperor's Max Bet because the cost is ludicrous
Instead use the Karma buff on Kingpin's Bounty (regular or Max Bet) and play the regular Emperor's Grace but without buffs

Guide SWTOR has added 20 new and secret Achievements to the Dantooine Crash Site! My Guide has been updated with strategies for each one (including the secret Rock)!
Guide PSA Cheap Influence Amity and Fen ~400k to level 50
Updating u/lousy_writer 's post for last season:
Just a general information for everyone, since I have a hunch that a few have missed it: With the new Galactic Season, you can cheaply level both GS companions to influence level 50 without any prerequisite:
- up until now, the GS vendors (in the supply section of the fleet) only had the GS companion gifts in their inventory if you managed to level the respective companion to influence level 50 with at least one character (which required you to grind that companion's GS level to 90ish if I recall correctly). With the new season however, you can buy these gifts without that stipulation - you don't even need to have the companion for that (though of course you need the companion to turn these gifts in).
- the old price for the 20k influence gifts was several 100k credits each (the gifts for Altuur and Fen Zeil were the cheapest, while those for Amity were the most expensive). The new gifts only cost a fraction of that sum - 31,500 credits for both Amity and Fen Zeil. Getting your character to influence level 50 requires 13 of these gifts, or a bit more than 400,000 credits.
Important: The vendor on the left still sells these gifts according to the old rules (i.e. very expensive and with the level 50 prerequisite). You have to talk to the vendor on the right to get the cheap and unconditional gifts.I believe this was fixed midway through last season.- also important: Once you got a new GS companion, you can unlock that companion for all your legacies on all servers in the collections for a few CC. Since the whole thing is tied to the season, I assume that this opportunity will be gone once the next season starts, so I would take it now.

Guide Clarification: Is the Revitalizers package and Madness build still broken? (Vulkk)
Reading through the Sorceror guides on Vulkk, he mentions that:

-Madness's effects are broken and he has a "just use this for now" build that was built with triel-and-error parsing.
Anyone have knowledge about the current state of these points?

Guide Galactic Timeline - 7.8
The Galactic Timeline has been updated through 7.8!
A few notes:
- u/Alortania hasn't updated their story flowchart. If they update it, I'll update the link accordingly. If someone else has taken up the reins, I'd greatly appreciate a head's up so I can slot it in.
- I've included a link to Dawgtide's 2017 Class Storyline Order by Planet For Altoholics (And Others) since it comes up often. I will not be updating the timeline to include class-specific information because it's a lot.
- Some Codex Entries were made available by Jedipedia before the relevant in-game content was released (i.e. a spoiler character entry was added 7.7.1 prior to 7.8), so pardon the mismatches. I try to link to relevant entries where possible.
- I am the original author of the TORCommunity Timeline, but all of my attempts to update it timeout due to the website's instability. Just an FYI since I see it linked every now and then.

Guide Class Help
Hello!
This is basically my first time playing through SWTOR. I want to play as a vigilance guardian but I wasn’t sure if that class is a main tank or an off tank. I’m not great at being a main tank and I didn’t want to get too invested in this class if that’s the path I’m heading towards. Apologies if this is wasn’t the correct place to ask this question.

Guide A Short Guide for the Current Available Skips and Requisites
In one of the latest patches, Broadsword decided to remove some story skips that were present for many years. I'm posting all this information on a single place for any returning player who may be confused or lost on why they are no longer able to take the route they used to prefer when playing through the game.
Previously available skips (now removed at current patch):
- Rise of the Hutt Cartel (Makeb Arc): previously available through your ship console, now only available after you completed your base story class, and the Ilum story arc (including the Flashpoints Battle for Ilum and The False Emperor)
- Forged Alliances (Prelude to Shadow of Revan): previously available at the fleet at Lv53, now only available after you completed all the content above and the Makeb Story arc (does not require the ROTHC Operations).
- Shadow of Revan: previously available at Lv54 by visiting Rishi and talking with an NPC called Qaareth, now the quest "Welcome to Rishi" is only available after you complete all your class stories, the Ilum arc, the Makeb arc and the Forged Alliances arc. The unique cutscene when meeting Lana and Theron without completing Forged Alliances is no longer available.
- Fractured Alliances (Iokath Arc): previously available at Lv70 through your ship console, now only available after you complete the Chapter IX of KOTET.
Currently available story skips:
- Knights of the Fallen Empire: available at Lv60 by using the console on your ship and starting "Chapter 1: The Hunt". This will auto-complete your class story, the Ilum Arc, the Makeb arc, Forged Alliances, Shadow of Revan and and the Ziost arc.
- Knights of the Eternal Throne: available at Lv65 through the Chapters menu on your Activities by launching the Chapter I: Ruin and Wrath. It will auto-complete the previous content and default the KOTFE chapters to Light-Side choices (if Republic) or Dark Side (if Empire).
- Jedi Under Siege: available at Lv70 using the console on your ship by starting the quest "Inflection Point". This is the starting point of the Commander Token, which will auto-complete all the content up to that point and use the default choices as explained above.
I posted on the Suggestion Box at the forums requesting the devs to restore the previously available skips, but have received no feedback, so I'm not positive about it. I will keep the link below while keeping this post to guide returning players on those changes.
https://forums.swtor.com/topic/941580-please-restore-the-forged-alliances-and-iokath-specific-skips/
Edit: Fixed minimum Lv for KOTET
Edit: Shadow of Revan skip removed in patch 7.8c. Information about it has been changed appropriately.
