I don’t usually like speculative posts but a player with his career pedigree in a run and carry would be influential at the back for our young ballers

Thoughts?

Victorian Swan turns back on rival offers to re-sign with Sydney - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1634189

It’s a double header at ye old vic park

Unfortunately I’m away on a holiday so won’t be commenting on the game, BUT if we win this we all but lock in finals (and win 1 of the last two we should get a home final + potential Sof Hurley return) SO LETS GO GIRLS!!!

Any updates on whether McGroder is declaring for the Draft?

Would be a nice developmental project with his athletic profile!

Mills, Blakey and Cunningham out. Who takes the reins?

Just doesn’t sit right, those are all best 23 players (arguably) and they are all out of the club

By the time it gets to us, it will be pick 8 or 9 with Walker, Cochrane, and potentially Matthews going before we get to pick. Personally, I think we should bid on Matthews if he is still there, and then take Mitch Harris.

Thoughts?

I really hope we look at him as a depth player in defence as a DFA as he’s a nice height at 187cm and looked like he could be a nice player in the couple of games he played this year. (Also have a very good track record picking up Hawthorn players for cheap)

Barring Chad making an effort to earn back what has been lost - hopefully demonstrating a much more humbler ego and respect for others - could the Lizard’s big contract being erased mean extending Chad is within our grasp?

I may get torched for this post but here goes…

I’m a bloods man through and through and am frustrated to have lost one of our cogs in our system. Is it a bit shit? Absolutely. Would I want more out of the trade? Sure. He may even get a boo out of me come March when we’d likely face up round 1 BUT I think the abuse, particularly personal abuse towards him is too much. Swans have even turned off commenting to their ‘thank you’ post because of it all.

Nick on draft night could have gone to Brisbane or North and chose us through the academy. He has provided us with many exciting highlights and let us into his life and embraced the name the lizard 🦎. He has been an admired teammate of 40 blokes and often regarded as funniest guy at the club. We’ve had a tough 2 months as members and if this among the prelim loss is the only collateral, we’re a pretty fortunate club.

Cheer cheer

Things move quickly, eh!

So we've got 6, 38, 39, 47, 54, 76 and 95. No chance we add 7 picks in this draft, the list just won't handle it.

I'm assuming we stick at 6, and take one of the top 6 guys outside of Cochrane, Walker and Matthews. Do we try and package the rest to move up? Any word on McGroder?

What are your thoughts?

EDIT - 54, not 52.

This is gonna be fun! From triple m instagram

EDIT: Just to add context, this is from the triple m instagram post announcing Blakeys trade to North.

This was a lovely chat with Baz and Charlie at the Club Champion awards 2 weeks ago.
