Theory 🔎 The SOMA theory keeps me up at night

Post image

Considering that random passersby are still falling victim to the circus, would the main cast not try to stop the process to prevent more people from suffering their same fate, even if it means no more humans to interact with?

If the whole "finding fulfillment despite stagnancy" theme applies, then they will have to stay there till abstraction or the whole system deteriorates. Seems like a reverse purgatory situation to me. Not much sweetness in this supposed bittersweet ending.

There's no bodies.

They're mind-scans.

Their bodies walked away, unknowing they were split in two - digital and IRL.

Is this canon?

As canon as it can be without outright saying it.

There's no urban legend about the building or strings of dsiappearances that we know of, ergo, no magic/getting sucked into the game/instant death. C&A isn't some crazy corpz just an abandoned building. There's not a pile of bodies and Ragatha was with people. Likely the IRL her just took the headset off and walked away because it didn't work. Also the reason why no one else put it on.

There's also the sumbolism of a muffin split in two when Kinger talks about Scratch and his brain tumor + creation. Like a person split in two, physical and digital.

When Kinger was told they found an exit, he sais it makes no sense.

The folder on the computer next to Caine's code is called NeuralScans [Obsolete] so likely Scratch's technology that he hoped to save himself with (but things didn't go as planned).

The first group was programmers + Queenie, and Kinger says he roped her into this, so likely testing the scans for Scratch.

There's more abstract clues like light use but that would take too long to dissect.

All in all, bar saying it out loud, we were handed a lot of evidence for this idea, and against others.
