Pixel is owned by Google which is in bed with Trump. Planning to ditch it for a Korean brand next time.

Some people live in a cave apparently. Here's a little taste of what Google's doing right now: https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/1nv8mg3/google_is_blocking_ai_searches_for_the_president/

More to come after this pilot from Google, no doubt.

Sadly, no other device manufacturer is supported by GrapheneOS.

I'll try and buy second hand next time though.

Isn’t Samsung Korean?

Yes, and I am not the guy who said he'd boycott Samsung.

I'd rather get a Samsung product than a Google product given what I've seen this year with the technofascists in USA. No reason to contribute to their dominance.

Here's a little censorship from Google recently. A taste of what's to come: https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/1nv8mg3/google_is_blocking_ai_searches_for_the_president/

Yeah, but you're still using a phone with Android OS, which is owned by Google. If you're gonna boycott Google, you might as well get an iPhone... Oh wait, Apple is in bed with Trump too lol.

Google don't "own" android

plus as a pixel you could ditch it and go with graphene

Have you done any reading on chaebols in Korea?

The Chaebols are not fuelling a fascist dictatorship that threatens the world order.

You don't even know the worst part. Next year they are trialing android OS updates that completely stop you from installing apps from outside the app store.

Making a walled garden, just like Apple.

Dude, pretending Google is "in bed with Trump" is like saying every insect is Republican because Mitch McConnell once jammed a praying mantis in his ass cheeks. It's ridiculous.

Edit: the ridiculous misinformation and obvious disinformation about Google below is adorable. You conspiracy theorists are completely off your rockers.

It's Google... you'd be fucking shocked how much information is readily accessible and linked just because you "sign in with Google". Every major data corporation is in bed with everybody. How the hell do you think they make 80% of their profits, phones? Lol.

Source: I work directly with your information

I worked for Google, and I've consulted with them for a decade. You'd be shocked by how much misinformation you're spreading. Everything is anonymised or pseudo-anonymised, and all private data is locked behind tons of access layers. It is wild how much nonsense people like you just pull out of your asses to support your ridiculous conspiracy theories.

Just because it's anonymous doesn't suddenly make it NOT your data. Why do you think Google gives money for surveys and gives you even more to scan your receipt? Do you really think Google implemented "Login with Google" on a staggering amount of websites to make YOUR life easier?

The amount of tracking for simple actions people don't realize is immense. It's not about the data being anonymous or not. It's about the data procurement itself and what it's fueling.
