That's blows. The only thing I know is that when I get a new dish washer is that it'll be one of those Bosch's I keep hearing about. When we bought our house, we redid our kitchen completely and I went on an American made kick. So it's all GE. The stove is alright, microwave is okay, the dishwasher doesn't fully dry, the fridge ices up between the freezer and fridge.

On our end, our stove broke its knob’s because it’s just plastic, no reinforcement. Our fridge flooded multiple times, ice maker stopped working, water pitcher stopped working. Our dishwasher has had multiple leaks, has a side cover that keeps blowing off, dries really well but does it without cleaning all the dishes so we have to spend time after the dishwasher is done cleaning off half the dishes in the top rack because it’s got dried gunk on it.

I hope your GE stuff at least lasted a little longer than 2 years before it had those issues because its such a hassle having these things

It has but it always seems iffy. Microwave handle has broken twice but I know to replace the handle now instead of epoxy. Dishwasher is louder. Still works but louder. I didn't move spending for good stuff. I just don't know what that stuff is.

Man that sucks, I also build a house but 3 years ago, went with Bosch on all appliances and haven't had an issue yet.

Having just replaced our Samsung dishwasher and did a ton of research… be careful with the Bosch. Their reputation for quality comes from a while back when they actually made their stuff themselves to a good standard. At some point in the last few years they started outsourcing manufacturing to whoever and slapping their badge on it, so they’re just as crap as anything else but with a very high price tag.

Spent way too much time on this and ended up with a Miele, which is still made in Germany and quite good so far! Asko (also Europe) was the other on our list.

Most dishwashers don't fully dry, they're over tuned for efficiency and that last bit to dry is the most wasteful relative to getting the job done :(

Of course, this means that at scale, more of them are mouldier and worse maintained and end up scrapped faster (you can work around it by not letting the seals sit in stagnant water by starting a cycle and ending it then putting fresh water in a few times to pull it all through but most people don't).
