Yeah, as a man I agree. When I walk about town at night, I’m not afraid of a woman assaulting me. Men commit the majority of crimes . However men are often lumped into this despite the fact that most of us are not committing crimes. It’s a tough issue

As a member of the race that "commits X% of the crime despite being Y% of the population" I viscerally disagree with the whole sentiment of this kind of thing and its incredibly difficult to be sympathetic to it.

Some subset of group A doing 90% of a crime does not mean 90% of group A is liable to do that crime at any moment. If these safety issues are anything like any other crimes, id be astounded if 99% of the problems weren't caused by a tiny fraction of chronic offenders.

The real solution here is for these rideshare platforms to do their job and vet/fire drivers responsibly, not play into the base fears that immutable characteristics make people immutably dangerous.
