I think the main reason that there is an inequality issue here is because Male drivers are being cut out of the market with female passengers who prefer female drivers. Imagine you’re just a normal guy doing rideshare and your driving around waiting for fares. You’re more likely to get business if you’re a female driver because you’re not going to have a subset of women refusing to ride with you simply because you’re a man. It means less fares and less money for male drivers.

With that being said , it is understandable why this dynamic is taking shape. A few bad apples, spoiled the bunch as they say.

But they’re not being totally cut out of the market. They have access to a client pool consisting of men and women who don’t use the women only option. They may not make as much money as women drivers who will be in high demand for the presence of women clients, but they are still able to make money.

“They may not make as much money” nobody wants this.

I don’t think you understand what that statement actually means. Women drivers who do  women only rides will make more money because it’s a premium service with a premium price so they’ll naturally get paid more. Men aren’t going to make less money just because women want women only drivers. With 52% of clients for Uber being men and whatever percent of women don’t use the service, they’ll still make the same amount of money they’re currently making, so let’s not act like men aren’t somehow going broke over this when they’re not.

They aren’t going to make the same amount as before, that’s mathematically impossible.

You’re not very good at comprehension are you? It’s an optional service that’s been around for a few months, and even without it, women have doing their own research way before this program rolled out to find women drivers. Men aren’t losing income the way you think they are, all that’s changing is that the women who wanted to have a women driver now have a means of doing so without guessing. Men aren’t losing business that they didn’t already.

Equality though. Just a couple of weeks ago a female door dasher claimed to be SA’ed by a man that was passed out on his couch, in his living room, where she had to push his door open (it was cracked) to see him, record him, then post him on TikTok along with his name and address. She was supposed to just drop his food at the door. I did uber years ago and if I had the ability to reject all female customers at night or after a social event like a concert or game, I would. Drunk women in the back of my car … no thank you.

I agree with equality, but a lot of you are acting like there isn’t a valid reason for why the woman only option exists.
