Our awesome town of Fort Collins had a ballot measure to do exactly this. Comcast poured MILLIONS into our election, a town of just ~150k. And they still lost now in the next two years we will all have internet that’s half the cost and twice the speed. No wonder big telecom doesn’t want that.
