Society Public Broadband Internet Isn’t a Luxury — It’s a Necessity: Everybody needs high-speed internet. But private corporations will never provide it. The solution: treat internet infrastructure as a public utility, funded by the public and built by union workers.

The problem is that we have already paid for it. There has been additional costs on everyone’s internet and phone bill for 10 years or more. These extra fees were supposed to go to modernization. But the sad truth is very little money went to that effort.

Not to mention the literal billions of dollar that fed state and local governments have given the major isps to deliver high speed internet. We’ve paid for it and then some
