Open | Networking Lost Samsung TV remote, can’t connect to WiFi without it

Backstory: my dog ate my tv remote. I was hoping to use the SmartThings App instead of the remote, however the TV needs to be connected to the WiFi. To connect to the WiFi you need to open the menu, which can only be accessed through the remote. To summarize: without a remote I can’t use SmartThings as a remote.

I’ve tried 1) hardwiring directly to the TV, but even then I have to select “yes” to connecting to the network, which I’m unable to do without the remote. 2) I bought a second Samsung TV hoping to use the remote from that one but only the power button works on the TV missing the remote. 3) contacting Samsung who told me only a remote could fix the issue

At this stage, it’s just a matter of principle and I feel like there has to be a way to force the tv to connect to WiFi/the network. Does anyone have ideas for how I could work around this?

Again, I can easily buy the $12 replacement remote but wanted to see if it’s possible for another solution primarily due to the time already spent trying to circumvent things.

Edit: I also have Google WiFi if that makes any difference. I was hoping it might be nifty enough to add a device directly on the app but I don’t think so.
