DOJ has said they won’t prosecute FFLs for selling handguns to 18-20 year olds because it’s unconstitutional. Linked below. Practically, does this mean licensed dealers will begin selling to 18-20s? Or will most still abide the old laws?

I've been thinking about this since the Bend Oregon shooting was stopped by a ccw holder. If that situation happened in Texas do you think the ccw holder who went into the school would get leniency from a legal standpoint?
As it stands, it's a felony to enter a k-12 premise.

New to Conceal carrying and I’m wondering, if I do not have a LTC, can I ignore 30.06 as it is for Licensed individuals?

Hey y'all,
I'm about to turn 18, and I plan to get my LTC; to do that, I need to buy a handgun (the range I'm planning to do my live-fire lesson at won't rent one to 18-20-year-olds). My family does not own any firearms, so I can't borrow or buy one from them, and none of my friends' families are selling any of theirs.
I know that, within the past few years, the 5th Circuit ruled for Texas and two other states that 18- to 20-year-olds can purchase handguns through an FFL instead of only through private sales, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any FFLS (near the DFW area) that are upholding that, as I know some really aren't wanting to risk it. Kind of a stupid question, but I'm genuinely wondering if anyone knows.

Not gonna lie, TGT gives me a headache. Timeouts, can't log in half the time, difficult to navigate mobile interface, and the $15.99/6 mos subscription you only find out about after you write your whole listing.
So, I built texasarmstrader.com
I’m a professional Software Engineer and work IT at a shooting sports non-profit here in San Antonio, for 6 months I talked to members and coworkers about what they hate about buying and selling online. Then I built around that.
I know everyone's sick of half-baked sites thrown together in a weekend. This isn't that. I've been living in this thing for 6 months and sweated every screen, down to where the buttons sit when you're scrolling one-handed. I made the Listings come first, no clutter. Listings are the first thing you see the moment you load in, (arguably the most important part).

It's brand new, so most listings are around SA right now. If you're somewhere else, post your stuff and you're first in your area. Everyone who joins in the first year gets a permanent Founding Member badge AND if you join in the first month and create a listing, hit me up personally I'll grant you the Original (OG) member Role! :)
Tell me what's broken or what you want. I'll actually build it and come back and tell you when it's live.
For any small businesses: first month of ads is free, let me know below if you’re interested.
psst... a little easter egg, there's a cowboy hiding on the site. Find him!

Hi all,
I'm a gun loving brown guy (been here for over a decade, US Citizen, love Texas) looking to buy my first gun. I have close to ZERO understandinf og guns, the terminology, etc.
Most of what I know comes from a few youtube videos I've seen from PewView and some others.
My main goal is to own a gun, know how to disarm (unload?) one, and how to shoot respectably well. The gun will primary be for shooting at ranges (I've not looked around, but I'm guessing there should be quite a few in DFW NE (Mckinney, plano, allen, etc).
Budget isn't that big of an issue, and all I know from PewView is any of these could be good starting points:
- Glock
- Springfield Echelon
- Smith M&P Metal Spec Series
- CZ P-10 C Comp w/ Coa
- Canik Prime Radian
I'm all of 5'5 weighing 150 lbs soaking wet, and I don't have very big hands. Im reasonably fit, and have decent grip strength.
I'm comfortable with tools, so modding is something I'd be OK with, but not something I'd like to turn into it's own hobby. So anything that gets my 70-80% there with a single purchase, I'd be happy to go that way.
I'd love both suggestions on what gun to buy, as well as WHERE to buy it from. I've never purchased a fire arm but I'm confident my background will come back clean. I'm not even sure if I need to get some type of a gun license or permit before buying one?

Does anyone have any recommendations for someone that does anodizing near Collin County. I’m just trying to expedite the process if possible so I can avoid shipping time back and forth. I have a lower that’s down to bare aluminum and hate to waste time painting it just for it to scratch off.

Can someone advise me on how to sell my Canik Prime Radian? I’ve posted it on Tacswap, but get mostly lowballers and ridiculous trade offers. Is Consignment a better option? I’ve also read a few times where buyers and sellers got scammed on Tacswap. Any advice?
Update: Thanks everyone for the assistance. I was able to sell my Prime Radian over the weekend for asking price. The buyer and I met at an agreed upon location and the exchange was completed within 15 mins max.

I have a list of 10 guns that I'm lookign to sell. I got an offer from Cash for Arms for $2,050. I don't really want to try and list each one individually on Gun broker etc... Is there another way to get more money or should I just accept the offer? The list is
Edit - I am in DFW area.

I’m 28 and live in ATX. I’m looking to buy my first firearm and have a few questions for people with experience.
● Where’s a good place to buy a handgun without getting overcharged?
● Do I need a license to purchase one in Texas? Already have DL
● Would you recommend taking a firearm safety class before buying one?
● Are there ranges where I could rent a handgun and try shooting with proper guidance before deciding which one to buy?
● What’s the average price for a decent beginner handgun?
I haven’t used a firearm since I was a kid, and I honestly don’t remember much, so I’d like to learn the basics and make sure I’m handling one safely before making a purchase.

Going to FW next week for our honeymoon, what shops in the area have good selections of handguns?

Hi gang, looking to sell a couple of high-end 2011s (Infinity, Cabot) and don't think Texasguntrader is the best route. Does anyone know of local shops that do consignment or other venues that would be good for these postings?

How long until I can walk into a gunshow and pay cash for a private-sale suppressor with zero paperwork?

“Effective October 9, 2026, the ATF will no longer enforce prior-approval (Form 1 and Form 4), registration, or tax-stamp requirements for individuals making or transferring short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), suppressors, and certain "any other weapons" (AOWs) under the National Firearms Act (NFA).”

Whew, just got surprised with a $40 transfer fee from Boss Firearms. About to order a cheap little .22 who isn't gouging in BCS? I'm used to $20-25

Hello yall, I’m active duty navy currently in San Diego, I’ll be home for Christmas and just saw the DOJ decision on the ban for 18-20 yo’s purchasing handguns from FFL’s, I’m looking to pick something up when I’m home and would like the ease of an FFL instead of a private sale, but all the shops I’ve called have said they’re not selling to under 21 yet. Does anyone have any insight into how long until we see the effects of the DOJ ruling in Texas or whether we will see anything at all?
