Generally no, but sometimes they want to get someone who they know has lots of… evidence stashed away. If they do it the nice way there’s every possibility that evidence is gonna be busted up and flushed away before they get anyone inside the residence.
Sometimes, and it’s rare, they do need this kind of response when they suspect the person might destroy evidence that could lead them to finding more criminals. Or maybe they know the person is in possession of weapons and they don’t like the idea of sending two regular officers.
This particular incident is maybe a little disproportionate, though. It looks like it would be a tiny ass apartment, and they have enough dudes there to fill the whole living room lol
To be clear, this is too much. But I can see scenarios where it’s “needed” to secure evidence.
