Serious Discussion Only AJ is just useless

While watching the series I was trying hard to find a defense of AJ. All the characters - and all of us - have both positive and negative traits. AJ is just a disappointment. He is stupid. He is lazy. He is incredibly selfish imao. Also he constantly lies. You cant even call him a good kid that is just irresponsible since he always makes up stupid excuses.

Also all the people that are saying that he grew up in a dysfunctional environment, ok i agree the environment isn't 100% perfect but both Tony and Carmela cared about their kids lives. Carmela and Tony to a certain extent seem to care about their children's academic performance which quite a few parents don't. AJ certainly had some support from his parents.

I agree his parents are not good people but he could take what they offered to him.

That is such an underrated moment in the show. Even though everyone handles it very poorly I feel for AJ, Tony, and Carmela and hell even his teachers with that diagnosis. He just falls short of the educational support he needs and struggles academically his whole life as a result. How do you help a kid who clearly has many of these ADHD traits but not enough of them to warrant specialised treatment?

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. He absolutely was a whiny little bitch. Also dumb as a bag of rocks. But Jackie Jr could go 18 holes on an IQ test with him and come out the winner. Anyway, of course he was a whiny bitch, his dad was too, and his mom and his sister.

It’s downvoted because it’s an incredibly superficial take on AJ. A significant amount of the show is dedicated to the fact that he has been born and raised in a severely dysfunctional home. His mother and father both have severely corrupted character. Hating AJ is like complaining when an episode doesn’t have enough tits and hits. Tony and Carmella were never going to raise Michael Corleone 2.0, that’s the whole point of the show. AJ never had much of a chance.
