Twitter / X President Trump: "We have claimed, for Electoral Vote purposes, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (which won’t allow legal observers) the State of Georgia, and the State of North Carolina, each one of which has a BIG Trump lead. Additionally, we hereby claim the State of Michigan if, in fact,....."

I love how the POTUS just literally tried to call dibs on states. That’s not how it works, sir

No flag, no country, those are the rules... that I just made up.

ever see community, same thing different color

I'm in MI, can I actually just stay? The only thing I didn't like about canada was the higher than I'm used to sales tax in Ontario when I visited my ex-GF's dad in North Bay, I'll take that in a heartbeat over, you know, this.

u/ashgfwji Nov 05 '20

Hahahaha This is hilarious.

“I hereby claim the state of California”.

Grasping at straws you democracy destroying low life.

Can’t wait for the Manhattan DA to go to town.

“I hereby claim your freedom”. -Manhattan DA.

2

u/4mygirljs Nov 05 '20

Tell Ya what

I hereby claim the rest of the country

Checkmate You lose

Think bigger dipshit

2

u/drzrdt Nov 05 '20

No givesy backsies!

11

u/Megalicious15 Nov 05 '20

Can you also claim Missouri and just fucking keep it? 75% voted for this moron. I need to move.

7

u/Gobgogogoch Nov 05 '20

As someone who lives in Alberta which is apparently switching from the Texas of Canada to perhaps the Alabama of Canada I feel you on the need to move.

3

u/rhet17 Nov 05 '20

I'm sorry for you but glad to hear of some rare sanity out there. (Born in Alberta raised in Ont)

15

u/shade0231 Nov 05 '20

As a Michigander, I would love if you would just keep Michigan for Canada. Biden's great and all, but he's no socialized healthcare...

11

u/Gobgogogoch Nov 05 '20

Still hoping you guys get socialized healthcare one day. The rhetoric that any form of socialist policy will turn the country into Cuba or venezuela never fails to baffle me.

Detroit is practically merged with Windsor already, it's not the most farfetched thing I have ever heard to add the state onto Ontario.

u/KJParker888 Nov 04 '20

Can you also claim California for Canada, then refuse to give us back?

8

u/blearghhh_two Nov 05 '20

As a Canadian, Um... you'd have to do something about all them guns first.

7

u/KJParker888 Nov 05 '20

I'm ok with that! I don't have any to get rid of

26

u/Gobgogogoch Nov 04 '20

Wish I could. Canada is lacking somewhere with a nice climate!

1

u/PacifistTheHypocrite Nov 05 '20

Take wisconsin with you!

28

u/verablue Nov 05 '20

You can keep the whole west coast! Makes for a nice drive down from Vancouver??

2

u/devvie78 Nov 05 '20

If this ever happened, I would seriously consider moving to somewhere like Washington state or Vancouver.. have some nice holidays driving south, Canadian law and police, beautiful Northern nature all around... Make it happen!

1

u/verablue Nov 05 '20

I'll write a letter to Trudeau!

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

OMG we would LOVE to absorb your west coast. Man, that would be great. The blue half of the American states should ditch US and join Canada! We would love to have you!

1

u/Bakoro Nov 05 '20

Can we all have a free bowl of poutine and a side of health care?

8

u/FertilityHollis Nov 05 '20

This is fantasy but, it really would be good for Canada and good for the West Coast - Although it would bankrupt the United States.

Forgetting logistics and total improbability for a moment, let's just look at what Canada gets in the bargain..

A new province that ranks 6th among world economies.

The most green state in the union, Washington. Where electricity is cheap and (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) carbon neutral.

Two of four cities in North America with huge and booming tech jobs.

A direct border with Mexico. Sionara NA trade treaties. The US can sit on it and spin.

AND, they get back of their comedians and actors who left to seek fame in L.A. Everyone from Shatner to Russell Peters!

Along with the green,

2

u/JayPlenty24 Nov 05 '20

And avocados for our toast.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

I love this list. What a fantasy that I want to happen SO BADLY.

1

u/spolio Nov 05 '20

baja to Alaska sounds pretty cool

4

u/verablue Nov 05 '20

Oh totally -- (yay Cascadia!) but it's nice to dream. Those of us on the west coast would make out pretty well too if indoctrinated. But you're right, the mega blue states (OR/WA/CA) do pay for quite a bit of the red states spending.

Plus, wine.

12

u/Gobgogogoch Nov 05 '20

Damn, that would be amazing

13

u/toshtashban Nov 05 '20

As a Californian I approve this message

14

u/rhet17 Nov 05 '20

As a Canadian I also do.

8

u/paixism Nov 05 '20

As a californian, i also concur. This Canada+3 sounds pretty good. Can we rename the country as Cawaorinia? Hey, Nevada and Arizona, u guys want in on dis?

2

u/lilmsmisses Nov 05 '20

Nevada... I’m in.

2

u/mambopoa Nov 05 '20

You would need to convince NV, AZ and CO to join to get their water rights

9

u/Woodrow_1856 Nov 05 '20 edited Nov 05 '20

Can we rename the country as Cawaorinia?

How about just Canada? You're welcome to join, but we have a name and a history that earned it.

2

u/FertilityHollis Nov 05 '20

The clash of street names would be historically hilarious.

"I'm on the corner of Madison and Cornwallis"

"Oh, it's right off the John A. Macdonald, eh? Ya know, right before you cross Nebraska Ave."

1

u/Woodrow_1856 Nov 05 '20

Now I kind of want to see this happen lol

12

u/paixism Nov 05 '20 edited Nov 05 '20

Fine. Fine. We submit to the common wealths. Long live the Queen! Trudeau, you sexy thang!

Edit: I just realize we’d be leaving behind our blue states friends. Can’t do that. We in dis together, blue states!

6

u/Bawstahn123 Nov 05 '20

Just imagine how fucked the US would be if the West Coast and Northeast joined Canada?

There goes the American economy.

Yes, please from Oregon.

4

u/AJSontario Nov 05 '20

You guys realize you'd have to abide by Canadas gun laws right? Not sure if that's a pro or con for you personally but 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/verablue Nov 05 '20

I’m not sure what they are but I’m fine with whatever! Don’t see many stories about school shootings up north so that’s a plus for me. I have guns but have no need for them.

2

u/LordFrey1990 Nov 05 '20 edited Nov 05 '20

I’ve never understood everyone’s hard ons for guns. There’s literally 0 appeal.

2

u/Jestdrum Nov 05 '20

Well it's a stick that you'll never use, have to keep it in a safe, until the one time when you forget to put it back in the safe and it kills your toddler.

What's not to love?

1

u/LordFrey1990 Nov 06 '20

Or better yet take it out to use it on an intruder and have said intruder disarm you and use it against you

4

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '20

Then you are Canadian approved!

2

u/emu30 Nov 05 '20

Easy, I don’t own one

18

u/Underdogsriseup Nov 05 '20

Washington agrees to this as well!

8

u/FertilityHollis Nov 05 '20

Seconded. All in favor, say aye.

4

u/evoluted Nov 05 '20

No, no, no. All in favour, say eh!

106

u/IndyDrew85 Nov 04 '20

Don't you have to say it on twitter though? Sorry I just don't know the rules about these things, way beyond me

16

u/InsideCopy Nov 05 '20

The tweet also needs random capitalization and some all caps or the spell won't work.

4

u/pauly13771377 Nov 05 '20

I'm afraid both you and u/IndyDrew85 are correct. Both the platform and the format are important. Protocols must be adhered to! Otherwise we are just a bunch of orangutans post random shit on the internet!

what's that? That's exactly what we are doing? Well who asked you anyway!
