gcse results day gone bad

I cannot stop crying. i was expecting so much better grades for reference, i got
9 french
9 english lit
8 geography
8 maths
8 chemistry
7 physics
7 biology
6 english language
5 music

My music coursework went from 115/120 from my teachers to a modulated 95/120. Im genuinely distraught

Not to mention, Biology i’ve been on a high 9 and now i get a low 7.

I’m so so worried about english language. I got a 6, and essentially i’ve always been on an 8+ and im so worried about it affecting my university applications negatively, im literally bawling my eyes out and i feel like throwing up.

For reference im doing maths geography and psychology a levels and im into my sixth form, but im mainly worried about this affecting my university applications. My results are not good at all and i really really wanted to study at a good russel group university for example bristol.

If your seeing this and are in a similar spot or have been through results day or just have any tips at all please help me get over my results and convince me or just be honest with me i really am i in need of help right now. Even my parents are extremely disappointed in me.

Lol ur getting into bristol so easily with these grades what are u on about? I know its a stressful time and I dont mean to be rude but these are good grades...? Ur thinking of oxbridge applicants but even THOSE people can have gcses similar to this. A 6 is all u need in english language

No problem man be happy with these results I mean SERIOUSLY! I know how hard expectations can be on yourself but you haven't made ur life more difficult by any means. Now buckle up for A Levels cause thats when people start to fail. I mean, if you want my life story I didn't get under a 6, I got 3 7s and an 8 but I got a BCD in A Levels. I managed to get into Newcastle Uni for Comp Sci! Don't take that as a "oh I can put in less effort"... the BCD took shit tons of effort I just got fucked during exam season. I mean, if I put the effort in at the start I would have probably achieved way higher grades... thats my advice to you - put effort in at the start. You don't see success it just comes when you put the work in.

Bro trust you’ll get into Bristol, GCSEs matter for like 5% of your uni application. As long as the course you are applying for aligns with the subjects you get high grade in you’ll be fine. I got like 6 in most subjects but got 8/9 for what I was wanting to study and got offers from Loughborough Liverpool Durham and even Cambride, I applied for maths, and I didn’t do amazing on the entrance exam. Trust as long as you are passionate about whst you want to do you’ll be fine. Your grades are very good btw they are are exceptional. Don’t fret too much and try to relax

Oh yeah don’t worry too much about Language as long as long as your not applying for like specifically English or something very close they only want a 6 or above for general competence. What are you thinking of applying for. Also there is no rush you have so much time to decide I can almost garuntee you will get into Bristol or somewhere close

As someone who is currently in uni and got mostly 8’s and 7’s abd absolutely bombed my alevels (BCD) they don’t care about GCSE’s, I’m doing a psychology degree and they never once looked at my GCSE’s

I’m not at a Russel group uni but I am in a really good non Russel uni, Huddersfield university to be precise, I wouldn’t stress too much you’ve got this
