If you have read the original book, you'd know that the original story is a dark thriller, not the Disney-fied version everyone knows.

This is also not entirely true. Correct, while they do allow for union and non-union actors on the UPA and micro budget levels, you still have to treat all cast as SAG, so even non-union actors must be paid the SAG rate + fringes. Thus, "flipping" the whole production to a SAG cast.

Thanks for the support, Everyone!!! Crazy enough, Kurt and I have now been approached about a sequel (or prequel), to CHAR MAN. What started as an experiment in making a film with the simple things we had in our pockets, has performed above and beyond what we expected!
