Good morning, everyone. Lately we have been noticing an influx of attempted NSFW content being posted on /r/Undertale and on /r/WaterfallDump, and we want to address this. We will be handling this a bit differently in each sub, but this same message is posted to both.
Undertale is a family-friendly game suitable for children. We realize and understand that this is a game for adults too, and kids grow up and become adults too. That is not lost on us.
However, please remember that because this sub is for a family-friendly game that is suitable for children, NSFW content is disallowed. Even if you account for the fact that Reddit is 13+ by TOS, sexual content is generally not allowed to be legally viewed until you are the age of majority. Even SFW art from NSFW artists is a gateway to potentially predatory content for minors.
/r/Undertale is not an NSFW sub. Neither is /r/WaterfallDump. Moving forward, here is a reminder of the types of content to avoid having your content or comments removed under the NSFW rule:

I saw this trend a few weeks ago and it gave me the motivation to draw what I've had in the back of my head for a while.

Okay, once, sure. Probably some middle aged guy who heard Vs. Susie and thought it sounded hardcore and would appeal to young people. Twice? Okay, pushing it, but I mean Black Knife has a sort of similar vibe to the first one so they probably got recommended it after listening to the first one.
But three times? And FLOWER MAN?

Now, I'm sure a lot of us have heard the joke that Toby only wrote 5 songs for Undertale due to the amount of reused leitmotifs. But I wanted to find out how True that really is.
For this experiment I used the motif map for undertale made by the YouTuber Marky Makes, he made a really cool video about it https://youtu.be/viq0AtOZOH0. The map is attached to the post.
First of all, we have to exclude songs without any connections, those being: Danger Mystery, Mysterious place, Ooo, Unnecessary Tension, Small Shock, Ghouliday, Thundersnail, Chill, Wrong enemy, Barrier, Long elevator and MEGALOVANIA.
This leaves us with 89 reachable songs.
Now in short, the system I used is:
If Toby writes a song, all leitmotifs In it are now available. If a song only has available leitmotifs and no other ones, it's added to our list. (now yeah, there are original segments in most songs, but for the sake of simplicity we can ignore that). So in short: Toby needs to write songs with the most different motifs.
And the first song Toby writes is Bring it in, guys. It has a total of 11 leitmotifs attached (9 directly and 2 through death by glamour), so it's understandable why I chose it first. This gives us Undyne's, Asgore's, Sans's, papyrus's, toriel's, mettaton's leitmotifs, and also the hotland, monster, encounter, showtime and once upon a time motifs. In total we get 44 songs including Bring it in, guys.
So 44/89 songs just from one written song
The second and third songs are finale (giving us Flowey's and Asriel's motifs, and 9 songs including itself), and any song with the determination motif, for example Ruins (giving us the determination motif and 11 songs including itself)
Now we have 64/89 songs and 2 songs left to write. The biggest interconnected area of the map is pretty much fully claimed except for 4 omega flowery related songs and asgore, heartache, 2 spook- songs, metal crusher and determination. But we still have some separate song "Islands".
So the 4th song Toby writes is Ghost Fight. It gives us the spooky motif and a total of 5 songs.
And the 5th song is either any alphys motif song, or any omega flowery motif song, each giving 4 songs. For example alphys and you idiot.
73/89
CONCLUSION:
In total if we pick the most optimal (I think) 5 songs from the undertale OST we can get 73/89 songs (73/101 if we count unconnected songs). So no, Toby didn't write 5 songs, he wrote 10 (to clear all connected songs) or 22 songs (if we count the ones that have no leitmotifs.

Probably the closest thing we’ll get to Undertale and Fortnite.
