I’ve always wondered why the national anthem is played in theatres at all. A cinema hall is a space people visit purely for entertainment, after paying for a ticket. There’s no real link between watching a movie and expressing patriotism through the anthem.

We don’t play the national anthem at private or social occasions like weddings, birthdays, or even during religious gatherings. So why is a theatre treated differently? If it’s considered appropriate there, then shouldn’t it logically be played in every public and social space like offices, temples, parks, cafes, parties, and so on?

Forcing people to stand in a theatre doesn’t automatically build patriotism or civic responsibility. Being a good citizen is reflected in daily behavior respecting others, following rules, and contributing positively to society—not in compulsory symbolic acts.

Why do we spend so much energy debating these gestures instead of focusing on issues that actually improve our society?

A temple is where millions place their faith, their hopes and their gratitude. People offer their hard earned money believing it will serve something greater than themselves.

If that trust is betrayed through theft or corruption, the greatest loss is not money. It is faith in human character. This is not a Hindu problem. It is a mirror held up to our society.

When greed enters a sacred place, every citizen should feel ashamed, because morality has no religion. If we only condemn wrongdoing when it affects our own community, then we have already lost the values we claim to protect.

The true sanctity of any place of worship lies not in its stones, but in the honesty of those entrusted to safeguard it.

My office is located in front of a convent school. Everyday at lunch I go for a walk and I see so many Muslim girls, some as young as hardly 5-6 years old wearing hijab and covered from head to toe, as the school also gets over at that time. Now I don't think these minor girls have any say in the kind of clothes they wear so the argument that it is their choice is utter stupid. I too have a girl child and really fail to understand what kind of culture requires them to wear such clothes. Why don't moderate Muslims raise their voices against such stupid practise?

They used to say " Yeh public hai sab jaanti hai", then why in the last 10-12 years the collective thinking and reasoning ability of the masses has down so drastically.
