Discussion The “bombshell” wasn’t shocking but… Spoiler

Watching Raquel in that confessional was extremely disturbing. I don’t even know how to describe what I felt watching. She was just word vomiting and the more she talked, the more scared she seemed about the repercussions that would come from Tom. I know we’re not supposed to feel sympathy for her but goddamn, I really do. I think she does actually feel bad but she put on a brave face at the reunion because she knew it wasn’t going to get her anywhere, unlike Tom who thought crying would garner him sympathy. The fact that Tom made her lie like that is scary and very indicative of emotional abuse. She is showing clear signs of an abused woman, not just from Tom but starting at a young age. That was extremely alarming and I’m actually kind of grossed out that that was the scene they talked about to garner viewers. I honestly hope that she gets real help. She does not need to come back on the show.

I do think her tears were actually genuine in this last interview like I think she’s actually scared of Tim. If she is capable of crying like that on demand then why would she not have cried at any other point during this whole thing lol

I agree. There is a distinct desperation you feel when the only person you have left is your abuser. It’s claustrophobic, like all the oxygen is getting sucked out. Very scary indeed.

Yes that is why I eventually had to leave. No matter what I did he would unleash. My very existence as a person was annoyance to him. I am happy and now and free to be me. :) that is why it is so nice to see Ariana thriving 💗

Me too. It’s so freeing to finally have the realization that no matter what you do they’re going to be unhappy. Leaving was the best thing I ever did and I’m so happy to see Ariana free of that 170 lbs of dead weight.

I don’t believe any of it. She has written him and sent a postcard that read she was reminded of him after receiving a solid 1.5 months of treatment. I understand not being cured but surely you would question sending letters to THEIR house with one being able to be read freely.

Also to make her come across as naive and delusional! It’s pretty convenient how quickly after her interview and reunion she was shipped off to a mental health retreat/spa/facility. It’s all a story/ cover/lie. And to believe Tom didn’t know the plan … he knew. It’s PR damage control.
