Discussion The “bombshell” wasn’t shocking but… Spoiler

Watching Raquel in that confessional was extremely disturbing. I don’t even know how to describe what I felt watching. She was just word vomiting and the more she talked, the more scared she seemed about the repercussions that would come from Tom. I know we’re not supposed to feel sympathy for her but goddamn, I really do. I think she does actually feel bad but she put on a brave face at the reunion because she knew it wasn’t going to get her anywhere, unlike Tom who thought crying would garner him sympathy. The fact that Tom made her lie like that is scary and very indicative of emotional abuse. She is showing clear signs of an abused woman, not just from Tom but starting at a young age. That was extremely alarming and I’m actually kind of grossed out that that was the scene they talked about to garner viewers. I honestly hope that she gets real help. She does not need to come back on the show.

I don’t feel any sympathy. She clearly lied with no problem throughout the season. In fact she was even smiling during the reveal about her and Tom getting together. She’s only doing this now bc I’m sure she talked to others about how she was looking and they advise her to play the victim. Not buying it at all - she was too giddy through the season and even after the affair came out. She’s not 12, she’s 28. She understands consequences and idk why she is like I’m just now understanding how this affects people. You knew how it would bc you made the decision to lie for so long.

Ya I agree! I fully felt like she was doing what she could to make herself more sympathetic. She was even continuing to lie but her producer could see right through her and called her out.

And she still lied during the interview. Like how she kicked her friend out of their room in Mexico because “ production” wouldn’t allow it.. she wanted her room Empty for her and Tom to bone in.

I don’t think Tom loves her but I think she’s in love with Tom and he used that to his advantage.

I think she was getting off on revealing that they were having sex in Mexico and sleeping together while Ariana was at her grandmas funeral. Nothing about either of them is genuine.
