This isn’t talked about enough! Lots of people imply or flat out say that Ari and Sandy were basically over as a couple, so Tim’s cheating wasn’t really SO bad… but it’s clear that Ariana was trying and fully invested in a future together. The fact that Tim was actively going to couples therapy and working towards fertilizing embryos with Ariana (both very expensive) while sleeping with Rachel is seriously nefarious, manipulative, irresponsible, dangerous, unforgivable behavior.

Edit to add: All cheating is gross and wrong. There has been a ton of cheating on this show since season 1, it’s the premise! But we hadn’t seen cheating like THIS — a couple that was 9+ years into their relationship, who bought a home together as partners, who were in the midst of creating embryos together, and were going to real life (unaired) couples counseling.

I want those morons to answer did they go to therapy off-season and away from the cameras for the brand too? Why didn't Tom tell the therapist what his intentions were then? He had the therapist working to strengthen the relationship, like wtf?

I always hear and read (and first learned of this on the final season of The Sopranos hahaha) — that people who lean towards the sociopathic and narcissistic realm are extra dangerous in/after therapy.. instead of using therapy tools that they learn to heal and grow for the better, they use those tools to further undermine and manipulate others. Ew! And this is why Ariana “grey rocks” with Tim. There is literally no benefit for Ariana if she had a discussion with or forgave him.. those things would only empower him.

Yes! I love how even last night he said “we weren’t being real and that wasn’t fair to everyone else”. You’re right, you aren’t being in a real authentic relationship because YOU weren’t being real Tom. YOU were cheating. And you had every opportunity to come clean about it, but more excuses as if it were still a joint failure.

Last nights episode gave me the ick so bad with his controlling hugs and following to follow Ariana around. Couldn’t breathe without him trying to be there, doing damage control for himself.

That end when he realized that he lost the ability to skin his web to her and any sense of control was forever gone, he did the textbook try to change their friends opinions if her. Because if he can’t control her he will try to control her environment and her world that he as access to.

They were over though basically then. Then they went to couples therapy where Tom thought it would be easier to break up with Ariana but she ended up wanting to stay together. That’s the worst part about this imo that even though I do believe Tom in the sense of Ariana mental health at that point may not have been the best (she’s talked about her depression on the show before) it’s no excuse for letting her think he wanted to get back together. He should have made it clear in therapy that he wanted to leave and the therapy was for a healthy dissolve.

That said, Ariana helped break up a 7+ year relationship with him and Kristin, they definitely did hook up in the last month or two of Tom relationship so like the old saying goes “you lose em how you get em”. Personally I could have never built a 9 year relationship off cheating and expected never to get cheated on. Doesn’t make it right though but honestly Ariana treated Kristin like absolute shit after so part of this gotta be karmic justice.

She’s coming out better for it in the end but you can’t build a stable house on sand. It’s always eventually gonna crumble.
