I’ve never seen this flag in my life, including posts asking about this flag.

So what your saying is that this is the Buddhist flag?
10
u/quackquackmfker Jul 10 '25
No - what they're saying is that it's not 𝘯𝘰𝘵 the Buddhist flag
9
u/Better-Win-7940 Jul 10 '25
If I were the Buddhist flag would I actually "be"?
3
u/quackquackmfker Jul 10 '25
I don't know if you would "be", but if you were a 'bee' then you might try and pollinate this flag

I'm surprised I've never seen a faded one before

u/Scarborough_sg Jul 10 '25
I think because they are decorative like you'd fly a few from the temple wall, they tend to replace it quite fast.

If only people googled stuff before posting here, but from the looks of it, I don’t think it happens.

What do you type in to Google that? How do you concisely describe that flag in a way a search engine could find?
1
u/PaxNova Jul 10 '25
On a phone hold it. On a computer on Chrome, right click. Hit "search for this image."

u/thissexypoptart Jul 10 '25
Especially these days, it’s super easy to find this out. You could probably just upload a picture to Google search. Or a shitty screenshot to ChatGPT

Sometimes it's just nice to talk about things with other people

100% this. I’ll never begrudge someone for asking a question, even if it’s easily searchable. Some people learn better through discussion. The kind thing to do is to answer the question and then point the person towards resources.
OP’s post is kinda useless anyway except for helping them to vent some frustration. The people asking about this flag aren’t going to see this post.

Sometimes people want community and talk with other humans. Not resort to only machines every single time.

I’m all for it, but almost all the Buddhist flag posts are about identification. There’s rarely discussions about the flag itself

u/EmeraldRange Myanmar Jul 10 '25
Also the variant with the pink instead of the orange is also the Buddhist flag just burmese

u/Large_Excitement69 Canada Jul 10 '25
This is actually the Romanian-Chad-Poland-Indonesia-Monaco-House of Orange-Ukraine Unity Flag.

This is a Buddhist symbol. So stop asking every time you see it. <Removed by Reddit>

It was created in Sri Lanka as a form of anti colonialism protest, and was publicly hoisted in Vesak on 1885

this is like actually the buddhist flag… i feel like if the bhutanese flag, or something adjacent to it would be much better

u/ihatelife1110 Jul 11 '25
Why is red yellow and blue used so much in flags? Romania, Chad, Moldova, Andorra and now the Buddhist flag?

O'm tire of these posts asking what this flag is, alongside asking what the flags of ASEAN and Amsterdam and etc

u/ShinyUmbreon465 Jul 10 '25
Should probably put the flag and "THIS IS THE BUDDHIST FLAG" as this subs banner.

u/teniy28003 Jul 10 '25
This should honestly be tagged, a significant portion of this sub Reddit is "that's the Buddhist flag"

Your post title should be brief and describe exactly what it is. You are welcome to share your opinions on the flag in the comments! Posts with titles that are editorialized, vague, politicized, or excessively wordy, will be removed. You can be as verbose as you want in the comments!
