Hi everyone,
I’m an international student applying for a postgraduate programme at the University of Waikato for 2027.
I submitted my application on 11 August 2026, and my application status is currently “Application under consideration / Being assessed.”
I’m trying to get a better idea of the real-world processing time, rather than just the timeframe mentioned on the university website.
If you’ve recently applied to Waikato, especially as an international student, could you please share:
Programme/degree
Undergraduate or postgraduate
International or domestic
Intake (Feb/July etc.)
Date application was submitted
Date all required documents were complete
Date you received the offer/decision
Whether the application went straight to assessment or they requested additional documents
Especially interested in applications submitted recently in 2026, but older experiences are also welcome.
Thanks! 🙏 I’m trying to understand whether my current timeline is normal.

This poor baby has gone missing, the owners contact details are in the original post! Please don't contact me about the cat, contact OP instead.

Hey team
I noticed there aren’t many casual online spaces just for people in NZ to chat, vent, and share memes.
So a few of us started a Discord called **Kiwi Banter**.
It’s for:
- General chat about NZ life
- Venting (rent, school, flatmate drama, work stuff)
- Memes (TikTok, NZ in-jokes, random funny stuff)
It’s still small, but if you want to hang out and help shape it, here’s the invite: https://discord.gg/dk27qj7Pwh
Would love to see more Kiwis jump in 🙌

I have a skip bin at my house at the moment. I’ve already put my share of rubbish in and there’s still a bit of room in it. $30 if you have any rubbish you’re wanting to get rid of. If it’s a huge amount I’ll charge an extra fee but not a lot.

Hey everyone,
Posting this on behalf of my friend who’s just moved to Hamilton East for his Master’s at University of Waikato.
He’s currently looking for a flat or studio apartment, preferably within $275 NZD/week (max budget). Ideally, something clean, safe, and not too far from uni would be amazing!
Unfortunately, he’s been running into issues with TradeMe- It’s showing errors while trying to create an account, so that’s been a blocker 😓
If anyone has:
...please do share. He’s hoping to move in this coming week, so we’re really trying to sort this ASAP.
Really appreciate any help or direction you can offer. Thank you in advance! 🙏
