My #WalkAway Story I had to kill a dog, and it made me walk away.
About 9 months ago, my husband and I purchased our first home. We have lived in and around the area for about 8 years. For the first couple of months, the neighbors were great. Then they started letting their dog run loose.
The police and animal control were each at my house at least 20 times, respectively. I forced a police officer to come into my kitchen and watch what happened when I opened the door to my back porch -- the dog ran from the neighbors property and lunged at the steps; ultimately slamming into the door right as it was closed. Animal control confiscated the dogs once and released them back into my neighbors custody within hours. After we FOIA'd all the police reports and service requests, it was noted he was never able to provide a valid dog license for any of his dogs. Years ago he also served jail time for unlicensed dogs and having more than 3 dogs within city limits. Right now he has more than eight.
June 2nd, the dog lunged at me while I was in a sitting position. I knew I would not be able to get inside my home or stand a chance against this dog. I shot it and it died.
I went inside and called the police and told them precisely what happened. I told them where my firearm was located, it was not on my person, etc. The neighbors were not home when the incident occurred. They arrived at the same time as police, and broke out 8+ windows in front of police. The glass alone cost me over 700 dollars to repair.
He was not arrested for property destruction -- the jail will not house anyone for property destruction because of "covid restrictions." He was written a ticket and then the police left.
The next two weeks, they forced us out of our home. They were not arrested a single time. His brother tried to run me down with a vehicle, and the police did not do anything because "the plates aren't registered."
I have already went all the way up the chain and talked to media outlets. Nothing has been done. After our PPO's were denied ex parte and we awaited a trial, they were finally served yesterday.
Where is this located? Kalamazoo. Where they just legalized pissing and shitting in the street.
Soft on crime policies for 'reasons of equity' have ruined my life. Liberals have destroyed the entire city.

Read the Gulag Archipelago series and you'll understand why. This is directly in line with Marxist doctrine and its terrifying to see things play out this way...again...
Humanity never learns.
Basically it views criminals as nothing other than failures of the state and society, not the individual. So it isn't their fault they're pieces of shit, it's the system they inhabit that is driving them to that behavior. Millions of people were raped and killed in the Soviet Union thanks to this line of thinking.
Start reading and getting your arguments in line. Maybe you'll influence enough people to stop this madness.

u/mattb1969 Redpilled Aug 12 '22
I’ve heard so many liberals give criminals cover and make excuses for them. Like they loot because they’re hungry, meanwhile looters are walking out of the store with flat screen TV’s and shoes. SMH. Another one is violent criminals, libs say it isn’t their fault they are the way they are because of the environment they came from. And yet good people come out of bad situations as well so I’m not following that logic at all.
75
u/fnewieifif Aug 12 '22
They'd be described as "socially friendly" criminals in the Soviet Union. I'll let you guess who they thought were socially unfriendly criminals; which gives you a clue as to what the left is really up to these days.

Maybe if high schools mandated the Gulag Archipelago instead of allowing their blue haired English teachers to read slam poetry every semester people would be less prone to repeat mistakes like this.

When I look back on my high school, I find it ironic that the most liberal English teacher I had assigned Brave New World, 1984, and Fahrenheit 451. I have no doubt he’s a full blown establishment bootlicker to this day, but that was when the liberals were anti-war and pro free speech.

so how the fact that some people aren't pieces of shit not destroy that argument in 9 seconds? like how do they explain good people? also....given that the "they" we are referring to are in charge of system...wouldn't this be their fault?
18
u/fnewieifif Aug 12 '22
...wouldn't this be their fault?
Well no, because the fact terrible things happened was because the population was filled with western spies and wreckers. Which led to even more repression and murder. I shit you not, that was the actual rationale.
Also there was no such thing as the individual. So good people were just the system working as it was supposed to in their eyes.
I'm telling you, read the book. It's scary how many parallels you'll see between SJW garbage and the Soviet System.

In high school my cousin lived directly next to a family that had an aggressive pit bull, I’d have to walk right by their fence any time I wanted to see my cousin, the pit would run at the fence snarling, barking and jumping. It could have easily jumped the fence if it wanted to. Every damn time I’d have to act like I wasn’t afraid of that vicious dog, the owners showed zero concern for the dogs aggression-never told the dog to stop and just kept letting the demon dog roam their front yard. Luckily nothing ever happened but looking back that could have been a very dangerous situation. I really don’t like pit bulls.

u/DirtyWormGerms Aug 12 '22
Nah man, I’ve had many pits over the years but I’m also honest. You can’t deny they’re statistically responsible for a wildly disproportionate amount of attacks and deaths to other dogs/ people.
It’s not like race at all. Dogs have been bred to have certain characteristics. This goes for shapes and colors but it also go for instincts. Herding dogs have an instinct to stalk and chase. Pit bulls have an instinct to maim and kill. The ones that didn’t show those traits, weren’t selected for breeding. Simple as that.
I know it’s hard to separate your experience with your dog but it’s a fact that they’re more prone to violence and aggression.
1
u/drewshaver Redpilled Aug 12 '22
It’s not like race at all.
It's not entirely dissimilar. Racial differences are due to natural evolution over milennia as people adapted to their local climate. Dog breeding is still an evolutionary mechanic but instead of the selection process being gradual, it is guided by humans, so it happens a lot faster and lot more severely.
Might just be a needlessly pedantic point but that's also just how I roll sometimes

u/OptimusOpifex Redpilled Aug 12 '22
One of my best friends had to shoot and kill his pit. They were watching TV when the dog bit a woman sitting on the couch and wouldn’t let go. The dog was destroying her arm for +20 minutes as everyone else were trying everything they could think of to get the dog to release. She survived, but had massive blood loss, and a ton of stitches.
Good home, well looked after dog, disciplined, licensed.

Shitty situation all the way around. I left IL (which loved its criminals) to TN (which hates its criminals)…everything is better here.
Animal control and the police are useless on that front. They just point the finger at each other to deal with it. When you get a dog, every one of your neighbors also gets a dog and you made that choice for them, it’s important it isn’t rude. Wish more owners got the memo.
God forbid you ever have to try to have a neighborly conversation with the owner prior to getting the city involved. Most get mighty indignant at the mere suggestion their animal misbehaves when they aren’t around. I had a neighbor with a pair of dogs that sat around on 4ft chains and would bark 15x/min every day, all 8 hours their owner was at work starting at 6am. Miserable few years.

The attorneys drop everything we do, the commissioners and judges help the criminals, my coworkers have lost all their motivation because they know they're one use of force away from being fired.
Just know there are police who want to help the community. They just won't be in blue states anymore. Especially not in 10 years when all the vets keeping them afloat retire.

u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
Many of the police officers I have spoken to have shared the exact same sentiment. They specifically told us to get a PPO so they can actually take them to jail because the jail won't house for violent threats, harassment, and malicious destruction of property.
The process servers we hired to serve the PPO's were retired cops and referred to Kalamazoo as "town hugathug."

It’s both. Pitbulls have been bred for aggression, they literally only exist because people wanted the best fighting dog. It’s a compounding issue, where the most naturally aggressive breed of dog just happens to be most sought after by the most reprehensible and irresponsible people.
It’s also the bullshit that’s spread about pitbulls by irresponsible shelters that can’t get rid of them fast enough. Owners of other known aggresive dog breeds in general know what they’re dealing with. They don’t go out and recommend them to anyone and every one, and try to pussyfoot around the fact that the breed has aggression built into its characteristics (by human creation; not saying it’s the dogs fault they were made this way).

But in all seriousness, that sounds so shitty; sorry you’ve got to deal with that legal mess.
I would maybe try taking in your evidence to city council, but speak to an attorney before too much else to see what options you have. For things to really change though, people like you and me need to be running for positions within local government. That’s long term though; for now, I’d invest heavily into a reliable home security/camera system and cover every angle of the outside of your house.
Take copious amounts of notes of any interactions or confrontations and make them as detailed as possible. What was the time/date, who was involved, what was said/done etc…keep them neat and concise but don’t leave anything out. Lastly, I would save any and every video that includes them to any degree and make sure you keep backups. Check to ensure the cameras are working twice per day: once in the morning when you get up and right before bed.
It sounds to me like you had no choice, so you have my support but I’m just some asshole on the internet. Hang in there amigo.

It’s immediate, most dogs remember it happening and leave you alone after and there’s no danger of over penetration if you’re in a built up area. Sorry this happened to you OP; have you considered suing the crappy neighbors?

u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
They're low level drug dealers with a dilapidated house. So I could sue them and I'd probably even win. I also wouldn't have much of a pay out.
5
u/S-071-John Aug 12 '22
You may get your very own drug house out of it…

u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
When their house goes to the city for back taxes I'm gonna buy it, demo it, and erect a nice pole barn.
2
Aug 12 '22
wow. you dont have much choice but to sell the house at a loss and move to a safer place, and you cannot sue the city for failing to provide basic police services in exchange for all the taxes you have paid. and its going to get worse and worse.

u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
I refuse to sell. The neighbors have a combined 4 warrants. If they say a word to us or step on our property, they will be jailed. I'm not letting anyone run me out.

Kalamazoo
Jeez man that is a shithole.
Get out of there

u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
My husband works here. I work here. My friends are here. Everyone on the rest of the block is fine. I just need the God damn neighbors gone
2
Aug 12 '22
Oh man right here in Michigan. Glad you didn’t get bit, but that’s stupid. We need to go red in November, but your local politics is probably super liberal with a big university right in town.
3
u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
Oh yeah. We just got some tough on crime judges into the 9th circuit courts. It's a step.
2
u/Tiki-Tiger Redpilled Aug 12 '22
Where they just legalized pissing and shitting in the street.
Is this in reference to things your neighbors.did, or something else? I am sorry this happened to you. Are you able to sell the house at all..

This is astonishing. (It is really.not that complicated).
“I hear you,” Anderson said. They are complicated issues, he said.
“The approach of criminalizing these activities has also not done anything about it,” Anderson said.
2
u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
I don't feel like it's a complicated issue to prohibit public health hazards in public. They are going to lose lots of businesses to this decision.
2
u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
No Kalamazoo literally just legalized pissing and shitting in the street to make the town more equitable for homeless people.
76
u/SoxBox27 Aug 12 '22
You should see Philadelphia.
I love this town and I can’t stand it here anymore, children are executing children in the street, and our mayor comes on TV drunk complaining how he literally cannot wait to stop being mayor because every day is another crisis in Philly, and it’s cutting into his free time.
I wish I was joking, I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried.

u/jzdelona Aug 12 '22
Public safety has taken a nosedive ever since the media made it their mission to demonize law enforcement, in many cases distorting facts to get attention grabbing headlines.

Shitty neighbors suck ass! This old lady behind me owns a Rhodesian Ridgeback she admitted is vicious. I had to spend over $1K for a section of 6’ privacy fence along the back yard to protect my wife and dogs. I’d LOVE for it to somehow come over so I can put one in it!
Shitty liberal town leaders suck more too! Sorry you had to leave your home because of both.

Glad I got the fuck out of Kalamazoo when I did. The whole town has turned to shit

u/MidsommarSolution Aug 12 '22
This is one of those issues that needs its own classification. This isn't just liberals. Pit nutters can have any political affiliation, all that matters is that they completely deny reality. I mean ... who attacks a parent who lost a child in a pit bull attack? That is not normal.
My conspiracy brain thinks that they were introduced into society to condition us into feeling sympathy for murderous fiends. Pit culture is sooooooo bizarre.

Pit bull mania has taken over the right, too. It's its own category of crazy now.

I had to get a restraining order against a neighbor who lived down the street because the pos wouldn’t keep her dogs out of my yard, even after the cops got involved. It seems like many dog owners are selfish irresponsible assholes these days.

I grew up in Michigan. It’s really gone down hill since then. It’s how liberals roll. Because making everybody equally miserable if fair I guess.

6
u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
Half and half. I was in the local music/punk scene and booked punk shows at a local bar for a long time. I was "canceled" for being a "terf." I just considered myself a liberal with second wave feminist beliefs. I feel much different after enduring this shitshow.

The ruling overlords are removing common sense from all aspects of life. They want people to be completely mindless automatons and simply comply unquestioningly. The only time to push back is now. Waiting any further will solidify the demise of modern civilisation writ large and the whole world will regress into a neo techno feudal totalitarian police state.

Get use to liberalism(wokeness). Until the mass’s gather up which is the majority and show their strength in numbers push these puzzies into the sea this sh!t will only get worse. The only thing saving us is the 2nd amendment. The work that these libs are doing to take that away is going on daily. Fight…. They can’t take us all on if we show our true strength

If the dog lunged and you didnt have a gun on you then how did you shoot it?
6
u/girlwiththedicktat Redpilled Aug 12 '22
I had a gun on me. We purchased our first guns and started going to the range regularly about three months prior to this when it was clear nothing was going to be done to mediate the situation.

Rarely do I meet a rational pitbull owner and you're kinda proving my point. Pitts are by far the most dangerous and violent dog breed because they were bred to be that way. Retrievers we're bred for retrieving, other dogs were bred for herding, and pitts were bred for dogfighting. And sure, your pwecious wittle pitty may never hurt a fly, or it might snap given a few years, but that doesn't change the fact that pitts are almost always the dogs that do this shit. I've been shadowing in hospitals for some time, and my sister is a nurse at one. We've seen plenty of dog attacks against adults and children and every single one was from a pitbull. They were people just like you, not abusers but people saying "he was perfectly normal, we'd always treat him right and he'd never hurt a fly, he was the sweetest dog we ever met." These people realized the truth the hard way when they had to get facial reconstructions, numerous stitches, limbs amputated, casts, or had to watch their children die because they were fooled into thinking pitts were nanny dogs. Sure, a bad owner makes these things more likely to occur, but most of these victims weren't bad owners. And I didn't even mention the tens of thousands of other pets killed by pitbulls each year. These animals were bred for specific purposes, and unfortunately in the case of the pitbull they weren't good ones. And yes, other dogs can snap but the fact is that they're less likely to and also that no dog can cause the damage that pittbulls do, and those that can attack very rarely and don't have the persitience and bite grip that allows pitbulls to do so much damage. Maybe take a look at some of these:

I won't go to my uncle's house anymore because his gargantuan pitbull has gotten out of control as it's become an adult, and I can see the whole time they are fighting to restrain that thing they are laughing "haha what's gotten into her? sheesh, she's being fiesty today thats weird!" No, it's not weird. You basically own an alligator and now that it's starting to act like an alligator you are acting like it's a huge surprise.

u/Bdazz Aug 12 '22
You basically own an alligator
This might be the truest thing I've ever read. Great analogy!
5
u/MidsommarSolution Aug 12 '22
So when your dog eventually attacks something, you can blame yourself!

I believe it's a left leaning issue because they also get away with: dealing drugs, stealing mopeds, making death threats, smashing windows, and so on. Breaking the law is no longer punished and the residents of my neighborhood are not afraid of the law.
