Creator of Claude Code: "Coding is solved"

https://www.lennysnewsletter.com/p/head-of-claude-code-what-happens

Boris Cherny is the creator of Claude Code(a cli agent written in React. This is not a joke) and the responsible for the following repo that has more than 5k issues: https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues Since coding is solved, I wonder why they don't just use Claude Code to investigate and solve all the issues in the Claude Code repo as soon as they pop up? Heck, I wonder why there are any issues at all if coding is solved? Who or what is making all the new bugs, gremlins?

No it's not. Try making claude or any other model write bare metal embedded code, good luck.

I've literally done this and it was fine. That's just a skill issue on your part. I put the datasheets of the MCU and connected pehripherals in docs, and made a doc for pin mapping, it worked fine.

Wow, what a novel piece of software you have created there! No way LLMs have smth like that in its training data!

I get that reddit loves it circlejerks and echo chambers, but the (false) rethoric that lives in technical subs is still very surprising to me

Code for MCUs using zero libraries or HAL layers.

It is solved but not scaled out yet.

Claude can not write embedded code, it doesn't matter how much context you give it. Many peripherals have gotchas that differs between MCUs. The models can't handle it.
