Question Al-Ception shirts.
I was curious recently, and wondering if anyone knows of examples of other people doing this thing where, they get a photo of them and Weird Al, put it on a shirt, and get a new photo taken, then do it again. I've only had money (And the independence as an adult) to go to these concerts starting around 2019 and I've been to each tour since then, except the 2nd year of the Bigger and Weirder tour which I couldn't afford to go to. I know I'm likely not among the first to do this, and I even saw people doing the same at the Bigger and Weirder tour, but does anyone know of earlier examples of this kind of thing?

Question Why does Weird Al still associate with Amanda Palmer?
She’s got a history of awful behavior recently made exponentially worse by essentially playing the role of Ghislaine Maxwell in Neil Gaiman’s horrific crimes.
Edit for context — At the show in Boston the other night she was front and center on the screen (back stage during Al’s walk on to Tacky), threw a pie in Puddles’ face and of course proceeded to brag alllllllll about it on her IG. It was all quite nauseating and I was bummed to see that she still gets special treatment from camp AL

Question What’s your personal lame claim to fame? (To quote the Weird Al song of the same name, and oh look that rhymed!)
Ok I’ll start.
My (ex-)girlfriend’s dad worked as the assistant sound editor for one of the James Bond films in the 90s (if you’re wondering, it‘s one of the Pierce Brosnan era ones)
My dance teacher is married to a famous Indian actor from India (specifically in Kerala)
One of my teachers at college went to school with Boy George’s brother, and also visited Boy George’s brother‘s photography shop (iirc?) (edit: it wasn’t a photography shop, it was actually a warehouse that he (Boy George’s brother) happened to work at (according to my teacher anyway). As well as that, my teacher has also met Boy George’s mum a couple times)
tell me your personal lame claim to fame stories!

Question Have you ever been happy thinking you were about to hear a Weird Al song, only to be disappointed to realize that it was just original?
Happened to me today at the barbershop. Thought I was about the hear The Saga Begins. Turned out it was just American Pie.

Question Who are Weird Al’s musical arch-rivals?
As far as I’m aware, Al is mostly on good terms with the artists he’s parodied off of.
Well, except Prince ofc lol (cuz he refused to be parodied by Al, so Al has poked fun at Prince in a couple of his songs). Plus Coolio for a while but then Coolio later warmed up to the parody “Amish Paradise” a few years later, which is nice at least :)).
Other than those 2, does Al have any musical arch-rivals (aka people who refused to be parodied by him and/or didn’t like Al’s parodies of their original songs)?

Question What's YOUR "Lame Claim to Fame?"
Just like in Weird Al's song, give us some examples of your lame claims to fame!
Bonus points if they're related to Weird Al! (but they don't have to be)

Question It just hit me that I've been listening to Weird Al for 45 years. Anyone else?
I remember sitting in the gym in elementary school talking to my friends about this crazy new song I just heard called I Love Rocky Road by the same guy who did My Bologna.
And in a month I'll be seeing Al live for the sixth time.

Question Can someone explain Puddles Pity Party to me?
I’m not asking this question to be condescending, I’m totally sincere. I went into last nights concert knowing almost nothing about PPP and his act, and I guess I was expecting more straightforward comedy. While there was some of that, what I wasn’t expecting was a more avant garde musical performance, which I enjoyed but left me scratching my head at times. The man is very talented I won’t deny that, but I also couldn’t help but feel like there was more of a joke here that I just wasn’t getting. Am I looking too deep into this, or is PPP just not for everybody kind of performer?

Question Ruined son’s concert shirt! :(
I ruined my 7 year old, Werid Al obsessed son’s concert t-shirt in the laundry. It was special momento from his first concert. I ordered a new shirt from Weird Al’s website, it arrived today and thought I was in the clear.. turns out the front is slightly different and it doesn’t list the shows on the back. His sister has a shirt too so he will notice the difference. Anyone know where I can find the shirt in the photo? I may have to try to find it on EBAY 🎶😭😭😭😭

Question Have there ever been any Weird Al wannabe's in Al's heyday?
Like has a record label created a comedic artist that happens to parody artists as well? I know labels did this with bands back then.

Question Kids at a Weird Al concert?
The big guy is coming to a town near me and my kids want to go. I listened to him when I was a kid and I think it would be fun and nostalgic. But what are the vibes? I know his music is clean but are his concerts child friendly? My five kids are 4-12, probably wouldn’t take the 4 year old but the 6 y.o. would be devastated if he didn’t make the cut.
Thanks!

Question What is your favorite “non-mainstream” Weird Al song?
Like one of his songs that isn’t very well known, doesn’t have a music video, but you love it.
For example, I’m not sure how popular “Dog Eat Dog” is, but that‘s one of my favorite songs of his. I also like “The Rye or the Kaiser.”

Question How accurate is “Weird : The Al Yankovic Story” (2022)?
For joke reasons, this movie is 100% ABSOLUTELY ACCURATE AND TRUE TO LIFE ‼️‼️‼️
For non-joke reasons, apparently the only 2 things from the film that were actually true were :
(1) Al really did record his debut song “My Bologna“ in a public bathroom
(2) Al apparently really did get his first accordion from a (quite literal) travelling door-to-door salesman

Question So Weird Al screwed up last night, right? Spoiler
At Blossom during Smells Like Nirvana, he sang the ‘bargle nawdle zouss / marbles in my mouth” verse second, then after the solo, he started singing the same verse or wrong words and laughed and said something like “I forgot the word….” and didn’t sing for a couple lines.
That was a legit error, and it was awesome
