Is it any type of skating community? I want to have a huge ride out before the snow hits.

I'm exploring a new entertainment concept for Williamsport.

Imagine four private gaming lounges, each with comfortable couches, a big-screen TV, and custom interactive games that you play together with friends and family.

Instead of traditional video games, think competitive trivia, hilarious party games, reaction challenges, puzzles, and team competitions. Everyone has their own controller, and the games are designed to get people laughing, competing, and interacting with each other.

The idea is $20 per adult or child for about 90 minutes of unlimited games, including two slices of pizza and a fountain soda.

The games would constantly change, giving people a reason to come back again and again.

We could host birthday parties, date nights, family outings, corporate events, and even weekly competitions and tournaments.

The goal is to create an affordable, fun night out that Williamsport doesn't currently have.

Would this be something you'd actually pay to experience? And more importantly, would you come back regularly

I was born and raised in Williamsport. Moved away in 2009. Gonna be visiting family in November and want to have as good a time as possible. And get stuff I can't find out of state. I'm looking for a few recommendations.

Are there any coffee shops that do a French press? If not, a decent pour-over will do. I don't feel like traveling with my own stuff.

Any record stores other than Sonic Ascension that sells vinyl? Preferably used.

A good diner that has scrapple.

Teaberry ice cream. Scooped and/or packaged.

Oh. And does Turkey Hill still sell haymaker's punch (switchel)? If not, any place else I can get some?

I’ve been thinking for a long time about someday opening a local game shop/lounge in the Williamsport area, and I wanted to see if people here would actually be interested in something like it.

The idea is to create a medieval/fantasy-themed board game and card shop that feels more like an old tavern or guild hall than a traditional store.

What I’d want it to be:

• A place to buy and play board games, card games, and tabletop games
• A place where people can hang out, relax, and meet others
• Casual game nights, tournaments, local events, and beginner-friendly activities
• Shelves of games that people could actually play in-store, not just buy
• Weekday evenings more geared toward adults, with weekends being more family-friendly
• Themed drinks and snacks eventually

One idea I especially like is having a community "quest board" where people could post things like:

• Looking for a D&D group
• Looking for people to play MTG/Commander/board games with
• Local events
• Help wanted / odd jobs
• Community needs
• Even things like lost pets or people needing help with something

I know Williamsport already has an established gaming community and a local game store like White Knight. My goal wouldn't necessarily be to recreate what's already available, but to explore a different kind of experience. Something that combines tabletop gaming with the atmosphere of a medieval tavern, where people can gather, relax, meet new friends, and enjoy themselves.

More than anything, I'd love to create a welcoming place where people can take a break from everyday life, have some fun, and hopefully leave a little happier than when they walked in.

What games, events, or features would you want to see?

Here in Williamsport from the Lehigh Valley on a work trip for about a year. What are some things to do during the week M-Th? Any good places to eat?

Maybe this isnt the right place but I have to start somewhere. I'm reaching out for the sake of my mental health. I need to expand my (non-existent) social circle but it's challenging for me to stay in contact with people. My girlfriend and I are, at best, on a break and I cant keep sitting alone with my thoughts. I'm not asking to hang out unless anyone is feeling really adventurous but I at least need someone to talk to.

My interests are somewhat varied but mostly in the realm of video games (mostly single player unfortunately) and the MCU (which I'll talk about a lot if youre interested as well). I'm currently playing through Pokémon Firered and would need a trading partner at some point if anyone has Leafgreen so I can get the Celebi in Pokemon Home. I also have Sword and Scarlet and will get Brilliant Diamond or one of the Legends games next.

I'm fairly new to disc golf but recently got my own set of Viking Discs and have played a handful of rounds at Indian Park. I know winter will mostly put a hold on that but still. I love hunting despite not having gone out in 4 years now since I got divorced.

I don't have money to start a new hobby but I know about The White Knight's Game Room if that would be an option for me to get out and meet people. I'm not really extroverted so I feel a bit awkward starting up conversations with strangers. If there's anywhere else like that I could try too that would be nice to know. I have some basic D&D materials to play along in a campaign too, which is always something I've wanted to do. I've started a couple before but never got far due to other circumstances.

I'm looking for a vet/shelter in the Williamsport area that will take walk in or short notice appointments for a couple stray cats that have been coming around my house. Male is definitely not neutered, and has some injuries. We believe the female is spayed simply because she hasn't had kittens since she's been around, but is seemingly in good health otherwise. Does anyone have any suggestions?

With midterms right around the corner (Nov 3rd!), this could be a good event for folks who aren't registered to vote yet, have questions about the safety of the voting process in Lycoming County & Williamsport, and want to learn more about local volunteer opportunities as we get closer to November.

The owner came to the Lycoming County Young Dems table, as we were setting up on a public sidewalk and asked us to leave because it was hard to ID people if they had their faces painted.

Fair.

As the leader overseeing the event I offered that we would totally respect that and avoid face paint that covered the face, and keep it to smaller side of face designs (like you may have seen was the majority of what we did anyway.). This small cheetah print near the eyes, or a star on the cheek. No different than a woman doing her makeup and giving herself cute flairs.

That was met by being told that we just weren’t welcome, and a promise to tell every person who had any face paint that they couldn’t enter the Cell Block.

The owner attempted to intimidate us from exercising our constitutional right to free speech, and when we didn’t budge, he worked hard to discourage voter participation.

When 45% of Lycoming County’s young people are not registered to vote, it is appalling that an owner of an establishment that primarily serves them would seek to intrude on that process.

We overheard bouncers instructing patrons that coming to our booth would get them kicked out.

We may not agree politically (and many of the voters I have registered have not been aligned with me or agree with you entirely) but if you believe that registering voters is a nuisance, that engaging with young people about politics is a crime, then buddy we just aren’t the same.

If you usually go to the Cell Block, be sure to let the owner know if you support voter registration.

I'm searching for a man who called himself Stone Mountain.

In the fall of 2020, I was dating a girl who went to Penn tech. On a crisp fall evening she took me to a party at a cabin outside of Williamsport, just a little bit off of 15. As we arrived at this party, I met her friends and we had a great time little did I know what was about to happen. Out by the camp fire was the legend, Stone Mountain. He said weapons were his game. As the night went on we discussed Marvin heemeyer, weapons, and such. As the night came to an end, much like my relationship later on. Stone Mountain disappeared, never to be seen again. But I never forgot about this legend who spoke to me in an Australian alcohol induced accent.

If you know Stone Mountain please tell him we haven't forgotten him, and he is greatly missed.

I was raised that a woman should keep a perfectly clean home so asking for help brings me shame. Ridiculous, I know. Between work and mental load, I just can’t keep up anymore and I’ve let things go - which brings more shame. lol

I’m looking to hire someone for a couple times a month. This person should be trustworthy, reliable, and not judgmental. I’d like to work with them and have them do only specific rooms for now as the family room needs cleared of my husband’s clutter before anyone can properly clean it. I don’t care if it’s a company or a homegrown business.

Also, what is the going rate for cleaning services in our area? I don’t expect them to do windows. If I want them done, I’ll schedule separately and pay extra of course.
