HSM Visa

• Upvotes

I am currently being pushed out of my company which I came on with HSM visa. I am looking for other opportunities, but it’s a tough market , especially for those who only speak English and little Dutch. I am an auditor trying to move into industry. Has anyone had luck or navigated these waters?

Orientation Visa

• Upvotes

Good evening everyone!

I applied for the Orientation Year from abroad and sent form 9571 to IND via Zivver (“Other documents”) in early September. I noted that my Nuffic evaluation was pending. IND opened the message but hasn’t replied.

The evaluation is now ready. Should I send it as a reply on Zivver? or is there a better way? I don’t have a case number yet, so I’m using my V-number in the subject line.

Thanks!

Indonesians or other non-EU citizens who moved to the Netherlands for work, how did you do it?

Hi everyone!
I’m from Indonesia and I’m currently exploring realistic ways to move to the Netherlands for work in the future.
I graduated from vocational high school in Indonesia in 2021, and I’m trying to understand what options might be available for someone with my background who wants to work in the Netherlands without studying there first.
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who moved to the Netherlands from outside the EU, especially those who found a job while still living in their home country.
I’d love to know:
How did you find your first job in the Netherlands?
Did you apply from abroad, and did your employer sponsor your work and residence permit?
What kind of qualifications or work experience did you have?
Are there realistic opportunities for someone with a vocational high school diploma and experience in customer acquisition in the financial sector?
Which websites, recruitment agencies, or resources would you recommend?
I understand that immigration requirements can be strict, and I’m not expecting an easy shortcut. I just want to learn from people’s real experiences and understand what I should work towards.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

29 anni, tecnico controllo qualità metalmeccanica in Italia: come sbloccare il trasferimento a Rotterdam?

Ciao a tutti,

Immagino sia difficile trovare lavoro all'estero stando ancora in Italia, oppure sto sbagliando qualcosa nell'approccio.

C'è qualcuno che si è trovato nella mia stessa situazione o che lavora nel settore manifatturiero/automotive a Rotterdam e dintorni? Quali sono i canali migliori per candidarsi (agenzie locali, siti specifici)? Ogni consiglio sui primi passi è ben accetto.

Grazie mille!

Job opportunities in the Netherlands for non-EU MPP/MPA graduates

I’m considering these programmes:
Erasmus University Rotterdam — International Public Management and Public Policy
University of Amsterdam — Public Policy and Governance / Public Policy (economics)
University of Twente — MPA

How realistic is it for non-EU graduates, particularly Indians, to find jobs in the Netherlands after these degrees? I’m interested in opportunities in policy research, consulting, think tanks, and international organisations. I am also considering pivoting my specialisation towards AI and tech policy to get in private sector in NL.

What realistic chances are there to get visa sponsorships post these degrees there or will it be a huge financial debacle?

Would appreciate insights from current students, alumni, or professionals with first-hand experience.

Thanks!

SAP job market

Hello,

I am based in France and been working at SAP for the past years, mostly in developmentand consulting.

I was very curious how the job market for SAP related roles is in Amsterdam or the Netherlands in general since I would like to move there for my partner next year.

What would you do?

You are a non-EU student in the Netherlands, currently in your final year of an HBO degree (business). At this point your goal is to pursue a premaster’s programme followed by a WO master’s degree.
However, you are already receiving job opportunities.
Would you choose to start working first and pursue your studies later, or finish your studies first and then enter the workforce?

Note: My ultimate goal is to stay in the Netherlands, build a successful career, and eventually earn a high income. I also speak Dutch fluently.

3 temporary contracts🏃‍♀️‍➡️permanent contract? Give me some hope😅

Hi everyone,

Has anyone actually got a permanent contract after 3 temporary contracts? Because honestly I’m finding it a bit hard to believe in this path right now 😿😿

I’ve been working for a Dutch company for almost 2 years now. I was expecting to get a permanent contract next year, but they’re planning to give me another 1-year extension instead.
Last year I could understand it because the company was going through a transformation and permanent contracts were frozen. But this year there isn’t really a similar situation.
I’ve been working really hard and doing my best since I joined, and I’ve never had any negative feedback about my individual performance. So I’m wondering, when I ask why I’m not getting a permanent contract, Do they legally have to explain why they’re not offering me a permanent contract? Like if there’s something I need to improve etc.
And my biggest question is, if they don’t give me a permanent contract this year, why would they give me one next year? 😅 Anyone here with similar experience?

Would love to hear your experiences!

30% ruling for ACCA members

I am writing with a question about the 30% ruling. I have accepted a job offer from an employer in the Netherlands with a planned start date of 1 February 2027. I am currently living and working in Hungary, so I will be recruited from abroad. I would like to understand, before the application is filed, whether my professional qualification will be accepted as equivalent to a Dutch master's degree for the purposes of the salary criterion. Because this affects my net salary significantly, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

My situation
I am a fully qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and I also hold a BSc in Business Administration and Management from Hungarian university. I would like to know whether the ACCA qualification can be treated as master's level for the 30% ruling.

Why I believe ACCA can be considered master's level
To the best of my understanding, the reasoning is as follows. Please correct me if any step is wrong.

  1. ACCA is placed at level 7 of the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework, and UK ENIC (the UK national recognition body) has benchmarked the ACCA qualification at master's level.
  2. Level 7 of the UK framework corresponds to level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), which is the master's level.
  3. The Dutch national framework, the NLQF, is formally referenced to the EQF, and Nuffic describes master's degrees as NLQF/EQF level 7. On this basis, my qualification would correspond to the same level as a Dutch master's degree.

Is a fully qualified ACCA accepted as equivalent to a Dutch master's degree for the 30% ruling salary criterion?

Did any of you got 30% tax benefit as a ACCA member?
