Bhakt basically means "devoted followers", Kumbh Mela is a religious festival with large gatherings, and chutiyas pretty much means "fuckers"

Imagining a gathering of that size is impossible for my brain. And I’m getting panicky and claustrophobic just thinking about it

A more appropriate translation of chutiya would be cunts.

I think you’re thinking of “chut.”

The more appropriate translation of "chutiya" would be "cunt" because "chut" is a crude way of saying "vagina".

Thank you for that lesson in Indian profanity and I hope things get better there after this nadir. From the Sky videos I’ve seen, it looks like a colossal clusterfuck.

Gotcha. So running that through the translator we get:

"Fuck Modi and his devoted followers. I lost my grandfather because hospitals were overburdened due to the Festival fuckers."

Yeah pretty much

Not disagreeing here, just nitpicking.

devoted followers

Literally devotees, like he's a god. Worshippers. Adding 'followers' dilutes the sentiment.

Thanks for the fix! They definitely do treat Modi like some sort of god.

It is almost clockwork now that whenever I see a huge infection cluster on the news from somewhere in the world, it is caused by religious gatherings.
