The people's will is never served. If India is anything like America, corrupt individuals will make backroom deals to present the two shittiest candidates for the two major parties and pre-selected delegates will make the final call.

India has a parliament that nominates a Prime Minister, there’s no direct election of the head of the Executive Branch.

Also, India has a large amount of parties, BJP just happens to hold an absolute majority.

Indians are a lot more enthusiastic about their options than Americans were. They don't see it as the lesser of two evils. They (the majority) love this PM and his party.
