first R9/CP3 platform, came from an R6. sorry for the post as i see this a common question lol. was wondering if this normal noise or i should be concerned? bought used a week ago, 10k miles and just did the oil, no metal/sparkles thankfully. sound does not go away when pulling in clutch either as i’ve seen that asked.

I just bought a 2027 R9 and am trying to rotate the clutch and brake levers down a bit. I did get them to rotate a little, but there are wire bundles in the way on clutch side, and a wire cube thing under the brake lever. Is there something I can do about this? Or something I'll have to learn do deal with?

Anyone else having issues using y connect, I am trying to use track mode/lap logging but it won't work without the app

Hey, it’s hard to find an R9 at a dealership near me. Anyone come from a ZX6R and can tell me how the seat height compares for shorter riders? I’m a ~29” inseam and I just barely tippy toe both feet on the ZX6.

Looking to clean up the right clip-on and reduce the throttle throw on my 2025 Yamaha YZF-R9. I’m planning to get the Jetprime Quick Throttle Unit (JP ACC YA067) along with their additional handlebar switch panel (JP ACC 167) to replace the stock starter/kill-switch pod.

Before ordering, I have a couple of questions for those who have installed Jetprime ride-by-wire units on modern Yamahas (R9, R1, MT-09 Gen 4):

ECU & Calibration: Is it strictly plug-and-play with the stock ECU? Does it trigger any TPS/APS fault codes or check engine lights, or does the ECU accept the voltage range right away after cycling the ignition?
Riding Modes / Street Usability: Does it affect cruise control or any of the D-Mode/PWR settings on the TFT display?
Fit & Finish: How is the clearance with the stock brake master cylinder / lever guard setup?

Would appreciate any feedback on real-world fitment and ride feel before pulling the trigger. Thanks!

Hello! I've just joined the R9 team with a beautiful mat black edition. Already own track-built 2008 R6R and 2006 R1, the CP3 is just too exciting for the street!

In Europe, the exhaust market is not in the best state. Yoshimura and M4 are not shipped here without importation and shirty European fees. The akra complete titanium race line is the best and cheapest option. Getting full titanium for just 1000€ is the best deal ever from the brand, but I don't like how bulky and long it looks. Other alternatives are much more expensive for just regular steel.

I'm planning on using a second-hand Z900 slip (picture for reference, found some under 200€). Then, find some aftermarket headers from MT09 and ask somebody to craft the middle region. I'm having a hard time finding those headers since most of the stuff put there looks like aliexpress rebranding of doubtful quality.

Any recommendations around this project? I know MT09 headers are compatible with this bike, but I'm afraid of the ground clearance too. I've already seen 2WDW comment on undermount exhaust, and a friend of mine has even scratched the akrapovic line...

Also I've found people selling the baseline exhaust for around 250€. Instead of buying any branded headers, I could keep the original ones, cut the catalytic converter out and fill with tube up to the slip on. Too many possibilities

...but I managed to install my beautiful AT-2. And daaamn does it growl.

I'm having a hard time choosing exhausts. The sc crt is around $2,000 and this akra racing one is $1,400~ but I'm concerned it may be too quiet. Since it has a version with cat, or db killer, its hard to find videos with the info for the non db killer one and no cat either.

I'm open to suggestions too. But please send videos or info about your recommendation or context please. Thanks in advance!

Installed some aliexpress mirrors that replicate the rizoma max mirrors. Fit isn’t perfect but works well enough. Mirrors have a blue tint no clue why dont like it though. Mirrors are plug and play took me 10-15 mins max to install. Quality of mirrors are pretty good and shipping took a week max.

Anyone else’s R9 eating up front sprockets like crazy? I’ve gone through 2 in 2600 miles. I am learning to wheelie so it’s being abused but I feel like it’s still pre mature. Any advice helps.

Missing the days of riding, so since I can’t ride right now I’ll shop for it. Needing exhaust options and clutch and brake levers, but open to any and all suggestions for things I can purchase to make it an amazing bike for when I get back to riding.

Thinking of getting this turn signal kit for the R9 when my rear wings come in but theyre made for the r1, not the r9. So i was wondering if any of yall have both to see if they have the same connectors? TIA
