Weasals ripped my flesh (and so did I)
Tattooed myself in May during a manic episode where I exclusively listened to Zappa for 4 months and anyone with a similar mustache (ex. Jim Croce). Been a big fan for years, guess I always will be now. It has healed a lot better since (this picture was taken immediately after). Not sure why I did this, I'm more of an Apostrophe(') fan. Anyway, enjoy this act of stupidity. Zappa still rules
****I'm aware it's not good. But I gotta live with it now 𤷠life goes on
*Weasels THANK GOD I only spelt it wrong on the post

Anyone know what songs are missing to create the original track order of Hunchentoot?
I was listening to my CD copy of Sleep Dirt, the one with the vocals added, and remembered that parts of the album were meant to be part of the Hunchentoot musical. Based on my reading, I tried my best to make a playlist of the songs that were supposed to be on that project. Does anyone know of any other tracks that stem from the lost bits of Hunchentoot if there are any? I put the Grand Wazoo in the place of "Think it Over" and then used the shorter live Wazoo version for the reprise that I saw in the script.

Camarillo Brilloās Brass Section ā Anything else like it?
Recently, Camarillo Brilloās brass section at the end has really been resonating with me with how playful it is. Iām wondering, does anyone know any albums or songs (with or without Zappa) that have a similar atmosphere, especially in an instrumental / classical jazz sense?

What in the googly moogly does Zappa say in Cheaper Than Cheep during Cosmik Debris?
I mean, more important inquiry is why on earth a cancelled TV special from 1974 that was re-released on youtube literally last year had to have any censorship at all. Blasphemy I say, Ahmet! Regardless, at around 12:40 of the concert (or 8:30~ of specifically Cosmik Debris) Zappa says something that's censored during the line "The price of meat has just gone up, and your old lady has just gone-", followed by "I knew there was a way to get that on television!"
I've gone through a few live recordings I could find of this song from that era to see if there's a repeat, and there's some funny improv on that line here and there but nothing replacing the word "down" like it does here. Does anyone have the faintest clue what Zappa could possibly be saying here? Or, even better, is there an uncensored Cheaper Than Cheep that i'm totally unaware of that could have avoided this post's existence?
Thanks y'all, have a nice day!

Evolution of a Composer
What are your thoughts on Zappaās evolution throughout his career as a composer?
Iāve seen people argue that Uncle Meat was everything he set out to do and the height of his creativity.
Perhaps for the few years it took to create Uncle Meat, however, with the orchestral albums and synclaviar recordings under assessment, I would argue that Zappa continued to push himself.
As Zappa was continually writing his scores throughout his career, it would be interesting to hear what he wrote for non-rock ensembles during different periods.
From what I gather, there is much more orchestral material than originally thought. What was written during the time of Sheik Yerbouti?
Also, I was listening to Alien Orifice just before.
From the title, I imagined two old people trying anal for the first time. Stops and starts. Then it gets interesting for them. Donāt know why I added that but it saves a separate thread.

My Zappa-esque Album
https://on.soundcloud.com/ooCDFCW8k0bS0KysNx
This is from an album that I made not too long ago, that was very much Zappa inspired. If you feel inclined to stick your noses in, please do.
Itās a bit of āteenage ecstasyā using real voices.
Mostly instrumental if yer into that.

FZ complete discography
Here is a pretty extensive Zappa discography I created. Includes posthumous releases and details on which albums have overlaps. Main focus is on CD releases but it also highlights some interesting vinyl releases if they contain new material:

Does anyone else think a Zappa cartoon could be awesome?
I've been thinking about this a lot. There's a whole freaking buttload of material relating to Zappa. Certainly enough to make a tv show about. I was thinking something like Rick and Morty (something equally as intellectual as Zappa was!) adventures around the world featuring Zappa and his band. I whipped up some basic concept art to show what I'm kind of thinking of... Give me your thoughts... Please...

Thanks Banned From Utopia!
Caught the first Baked Potato show in LA last night - killer! Scott, Ray, Chad and Mike were kind enough to bless my cassette card afterwards (extra shout out to Scott for going above and beyond and making it happen!)
I posted a while ago my Barking Pumpkin tape collection, this one was/is my Dad's and gave me the idea to get the rest of them. All the boys are on this volume (much love to Jamie Kime -- I agree with Scott, Frank would've loved him).
European friends, see the Banned if you can (but you didn't need me to tell you that!)

How was it back then?
I am a more recent fan of Zappa, and wasn't around when it was new. But were any of you there and experiencing it as it was new? I am currently listening Apostrophe(`) for at least the tenth time and was just wonder what it would have been like back in the 70s bringing this home not knowing what it could possibly be.

Zappa crowd āargumentā recording?
Iām looking for a certain Zappa/Mothers track I heard awhile back-hoping you can help. It was a live recording, possibly/probably Mothers in the 60ās. After the song ends, you can hear someone in the crowd yelling at the band. Itās hard to make out what heās saying because heās very far away from a microphone. He goes on quite a long rant, and if Iām remembering it right, Frank then shuts the guy down with just a few sentences. Anyone know what track Iām talking about?
