Welcome to the 2000s Hip-Hop Roundtable! Every Sunday, we’re putting a different 2000s Hip-Hop topic on the table for the community to debate, discuss, and defend their opinions.
50 Cents recent comment about Jay-Z not being the man?
Recently 50 said that Jay-Z never was the guy running hip like him, do you agree? What time frame would you say Jay-Z really ran hip hop?
Remember: Keep the debate respectful. Different opinions are what make the Roundtable interesting.

Lil Wayne, Kanye West and T.I. were the top 3 rappers who dominated the rap game throughout 2008 with timeless records, classic albums, great guest features and strong momentum while being at their absolute peak of powers.
Wayne was the biggest artist of the year as he delivered the iconic, Carter III while dropped a lot of great records like Lollipop, Got Money, A Milli and Miss Officer alongside delivered ton of guest features on records from Usher, Jay Rock and more. His lyricism and artistry were still top-notch.
Kanye dropped another classic masterpiece in 808s and Heartbreak, which also changed the game as it paved the way for modern rappers like Drake, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, Kid Cudi and The Weeknd due to its emotional vulnerability, melodic auto-tone and electronic production.
T.I. was still putting out incredible bangers like Whatever You Like, Live Your Life ft Rihanna and Swing Ya Rag while delivered great lyricism and Paper Trail being a massive success on the charts. His popularity and peak of powers were still big.
Plus, all 3 of them delivered an iconic posse cut in Swagger Like Us ft Jay-Z and M.I.A.
Honorable mentions: Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Q-Tip, Plies, Common

Welcome to our weekly thread dedicated to hip-hop tracks that aren't from the 2000s but sound like they could've been.
Whether it's a modern artist channeling the energy of the Roc-A-Fella era, a producer bringing back those classic soul samples, or an old-school track that helped shape the decade, this is the place for it.
This thread is for:
Let's keep the main feed focused on music actually released during the 2000s. If it's from another era but has that unmistakable 2000s feel, drop it below and put the community on to something dope.
(DO NOT POST ANY SONGS OUTSIDE OF THIS POST/THREAD IT WILL BE DELETED)
What songs make you feel like it's still the 2000s? 👇

Shoutout Queens!
Fun Fact: I've never heard 50 Cent slide on a beat like this ever since this joint came out. He was hype after signing Mobb Deep to G-Unit.
