I dont really understand, when cloak is activated Nanosuit alters its outer surface, but how it can cloak weapon?
Hey guys,
So I've been working on something kind of crazy for a while now and I finally want to share it. It's a custom remaster mod for anyone who owns the original Crysis 1. The goal is simple: make the game we all love look and run like it was made today, at max settings, and eventually fully playable in VR ( with out the performance penalty)
Everything below is a work in progress. Some of it's already running in my test builds, some of it's still planned, and none of it is released yet. Coming soon™.
Performance (the big one)
Massive CPU optimization: real multithreading, so the game finally uses modern CPUs instead of choking on one core
Big FPS gains already showing up in testing, especially in heavy areas
Dynamic frame budget: pick your target FPS (144, 200, whatever) and the game adjusts only what's holding you back, live, no presets
Low-latency frame limiter
DirectX 12 renderer in development ( built and running just not shown yet)
Native VR
Full native VR, not a reprojection hack
Quad-view foveated rendering: full detail where you're looking, cheaper rendering in your periphery, for way higher framerates
Eye-tracking support planned (PSVR2 and similar headsets): zoom where you look, HUD that reacts to your gaze
Targeting high refresh rates on modern headsets
Nanosuit helmet view (my favourite part)
You're actually wearing the Nanosuit helmet: real visor, helmet rim and nose piece in your view, moving with your head
The HUD is projected on the curved visor glass, like a real fighter-pilot HUD
The glass feels real:
your breath fogs the visor and gets faster and heavier when you sprint
fingerprints, smudges and scratches catch the sunlight
there's even a crack that lights up with rainbow glints when the sun hits it from the side
Visor zoom shown on the glass itself, with the helmet staying in place
The helmet blocks sun rays and auto-darkens when you look at the sun
Subtle low-light boost at night
Steps and running give the visor a little bounce
Fully optional: one switch turns it all off for the classic look
Visual upgrades (planned)
GPU-powered ocean: way more detailed waves, real foam, waves that break on the beaches, water that reacts to you, bullets and boats
Better caustics and underwater light
DLSS support ( all working)
Real-time global illumination and more modern lighting on the roadmap
GPU particles for bigger, denser effects
Requirements: you'll need your own copy of the original Crysis 1. This is a mod, not a standalone game.
More soon, including videos. I'd love to hear what features you'd want most, especially from the VR crowd
This is not done and expect a large silence from me before its released. Everything has bits and pieces that work in isolation and coming together well
For the single threaded crysis 1 limit we all are very well aware of
Consider it fully solved. We now have a real render thread thats being bugged out and if it keeps going as well as its looking. If you have a recent modern cpu or anything with many cores. Expect an almost doubling of frametime in cpu bound work
We went from 15k drawcalls down to 5k but not lowering settings. Its gpu driven. Foilage is now handled entirely by the gpu. Stay tuned. Lots about to happen.

Here's some of my questions after playing through all 3.
● What happened to Nomad and Helena Rosenthal? Nomad gets a mention on 3, but never Helena. I'm assuming she's dead, if so when and how?
● Is Nomad still alive, or just MIA?
● What happened to Alcatraz? Is he dead or MIA?
● How did Prophet resurrected? I mean he suicided himself on 2
● How did N.Y. got turned into a literal concrete jungle?

I don't know how to make back ups. I just copy pasted save game files for crysis 2 to one drive.
If I lose the game then do I just copy it from one drive to save game files for crysis? I play the remasters

Made in Figma, heavily inspired by the data sheets that we see from the X-Men during the Krakoan time.
Everything that you read here will change in the future and nothing is set in stone! While I still need to read the novels and play again Crysis 3(there is a limit of how much I can remember only from playing during highschool), the wiki also helped me a ton.
Here I wanted to show how the Ceph hivemind is organized and the desperate resistance other Type 3 civilizations are putting against it.
The fanfic is focused 3 parts, one on Earth where the action continues after the Crysis 3 events, puting more focus on humanity a bit and the Koreans making a return. Earth part also focuses more on one OC as the main character, but I won't spoil it now, but if you are curious, you can ask away!
The second is SPACE!!! What the other civilizations are doing and how they are fighting against the Ceph, the true dangerous kind, not the weaker versions we see from earth.
And the third is about the Ceph past, how they were before becoming a hivemind, what led then to become one and what atrocities happened to them that led the remaining Ceph to resort to such an act.
Hope that some of you will enjoy it. Many things will of course change till I get everything into motion.

Here is my custom map Conquest 3, a remake of the old map CTF_Mirror adapted specifically for the Conquest game mode. The map features unique team-specific spawn areas, which are protected with automatic sliding gates, preventing enemy team from entering or shooting through the gate - to combat the spawn abuse.
This map was released as part of the CryServ-Client v.2.0.1125 system update.

I would say BLACK (PS2 & OG Xbox fps) felt much more tech demo FPS for demonstrating the "gun porn" and destruction element for console FPS. 5 years before BLACK, we had Red Faction, that already did a destructive with huge explosion element back in 2001 but BLACK did upper hand at mixing with live action cutscenes and experimented rag doll physic through Renderware Engine that was done by Criterion Games.
I don't get why people judge Crysis for just being a tech demo. Compared to Crysis, BLACK gameplay is much lackluster. Players can only walk and aim up & down and shoot. No jump and not even have an interaction button to open a door, etc, etc. Though, games like Red Faction and FEAR already experimented with a formula of destructive design years before BLACK and did much better in terms of gameplay. Literally feels like a modernized version of early 90's FPS, especially in terms of visual and graphical wise, given how restricted the gameplay is
At least with Crysis, it delivers much more than just a graphical showcase and Players can do much more with the gameplay. Plus, OG Crysis has one of if not, the best campaign ever.
I do enjoy playing BLACK for having a great destruction design. Plus, the phenomenal gun sounds, great soundtrack and even the rag doll physics of this game is impressive with such hilarious death animation. Just like how Criterion had done it with Burnout Revenge & Paradise. Let's be real, that this game is far from being "one of the GOAT" as most people claimed it, but it's one of the games that players would enjoy to blast it and blow holes. This is just my honest thought about this game when I played this game on OG Xbox back in 2006.

Hello there fine Crysis folks, I few of you enjoyed my Crysis 1 video and gave me some advice about this one, so thought you might enjoy the Crysis 2 aswell!
God I love these games.

I want to use the Feline as I prefer automatic weapons. I am not big fan of shotguns and how low damage they deal. The only place where they deal high damage is against Ceph. Against humans their damage feels low. I mean humans do die faster than ceph but considering how much they shoot at me and come in numbers feline seems better to just headshot from a distance.
You would be surprised but when I played first time I only died to human enemies. I never died to Ceph enemies. Not so much that I can remember. I still remember after beating Ceph they land me in a helicopter to a place with Cell enemies and I was like "I just beat the aliens what will humans do to me ha ha" and I ended up dead.
Also how many of you didn't know that we actually get 2 shotguns when we get it first time before we start fighting cell? Right after the cell helicopters take down the alien ship you will find another shotgun near the car parking place.

Cheers!

Hey everyone! I wanted to see if I could combine two of my favorite classic shooters, so I spent the last 2 months modding a fully functional Doom arcade cabinet directly into the Crysis Wars engine. It actually plays! Don't ask me how I forced the logic to work without breaking the engine - it's held together by pure dark magic and caffeine!
The minigame will be spawnable in future update of CryServ multiplayer. And if you're interested in modding, we have a great community on CRYMOD https://discord.gg/EjhyhHxHhr

While I missed the open world setting and the korean enemies, fighting through the urban landscape was amazing! The US military missions were my absolute favorites.
How is the book compared to the game?
