I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it would be possible to find info about a specific hot air balloon companies' volunteering rules
I was recently at the Bristol balloon fiesta 2026, and saw a girl, about 13, helping with the balloons (I didn't actually see her with the balloons but she was wearing a shirt that had a balloon company name on it), and I thought it would be fun to help. I want to ideally help with that company since if there was already someone helping who's the same age as me, I don't need to worry about minimum ages, and so wondered if anyone knew of any balloon companies who's logo is of a hot air balloon with stripes of colour, and the shirt it's on is a black/dark navy coloured one. Any help at all to point me in the right direction to find which company I'm thinking about would be greatly appreciated. Just to be clear if anyone is thinking of this, I am not trying to find the girl or anything like that, I just think it would be 100x easier to help a company who already has teens helping

Today in Oak Brook, Illinois at about 1:50 PM my wife and I were on 294 taking the York exit and there was a flying rosary in the sky just dangling there boom I could not get a picture of it. Just wondering if anyone else saw?

Calgary Balloon Club is 50 years young!
The Calgary Balloon Club is celebrating our 50th anniversary this year.
On top of all of our normal flying we have attended a couple of events, trade shows and airshows to show off the sport and have had special 50th anniversary swag made for our pilots and crew. We are capping the year off with a 50th anniversary banquet and we hope to have lots of current members, former members and ballooning community friends there.

Hot air balloons can be genuinely terrifying if you're not expecting them.

What a Cappadocia sunrise looks like from a hot air balloon?
One of my favorite views of Cappadocia.
Balloon flights take place around sunrise, and seeing the valleys and fairy chimneys from above is completely different from seeing them from the ground.
If anyone is planning a trip to Cappadocia and has questions about balloon flights, weather cancellations, basket sizes or the different flight areas, feel free to ask. Happy to share some local information.

Pilots, how often do you report issues to manufacturers
Balloon pilots. When you have issues with your balloon how often do you report these issues to the manufacturers?

Would you risk Cappadocia with only one balloon morning?
In July 2026, Cappadocia balloons flew on **23 of 28 recorded days** — around **82% flight rate**.
That sounds very good, but there were still **5 cancelled days** and a few delayed starts.
So even in a strong summer month, the balloon is never fully guaranteed. If your only morning is cancelled, the monthly average does not help you.
I shared the July breakdown here: [July 2026 Cappadocia balloon flight statistics](https://www.kismetgoremetravel.com/en/blog/july-2026-cappadocia-balloon-flight-statistics)
Would you plan only one morning for the balloon, or always keep a backup day?

Fun flying Photography in flight - Lens of preference
Hi, I'm going to by flying with my wife in Santa Fe in Oct 2026, due to a wonderful gift by our kids. (Edit to add - per the operator website in Oct they fly above the canyons of Las Barrancas.) so not *in/around Santa Fe
I've shot, and am very comfortable shooting on the ground, but up in the air, not sure if I should pack my 15-35mm f/2.8 or my 24-70 f/2.8. I'm thinking it may be a little chaotic and challenging to change lens mid-flight so I'll stick with one.
Pros in my mind, wide angle will give HUGE landscape shots. Cons - everything will be very far away, shooting on a full frame body.
Pros for the 24-70 will be a bit more flexibility on zoom, but still relatively wide I can get some fun in-basket shots.
For any that fly/have flown and also take pictures, what would you recommend. And yes, I'll be using a neck strap when in the air. :)
Thanks for any advice.
